Been looing to get a set of aftermarket aluminum valve covers for my 425.

Any opinions? I like the mooneyes and the traditional ones on oldbuickparts. com

Also any thoughts on breathers/PCV valves?

I have the factory chrome covers, factory finned aluminum covers, and aftermarket polished Offenhausers on my nailheads. All look and work good. The Offys used to be less expensive but not sure about that now. I think Speedway has them.

    Hi,

I also have stock Buick ones, but always wanting to find either Moons or Edelbrock ones that have a oil type cap in the middle, every once in a while they come up, but out of my price range as would love to do 2 breathers and use a older valley pan for the pcv

All look nice lots on evilbay, even stock ones chromed look good.

    Regards,

Check out Arias Components. I bought a nice pair some years ago. Mine have no breather which I prefer, but see the new style have them in the middle.

I'd love to get a set of the aluminum factory covers for my Electra. However, with the exchange rate, customs and shipping, the average set I've seen will set me back $1000 CDN "dollarettes". A thousand bucks for valve covers is a bit too much I'm afraid; so I'll likely never see a set.

    Hi,

Usually you can find them 200-400 usd, not sure what your location but keep a eye out as you never know when a set comes up

I picked up a set along with a 66 425, q-jet manifold and a st400 all for a 100 bucks early this spring before the plaque

    Good luck in your search,

I know that some of these have issues with fitment when you use roller rockers. Is there any issues when using adjustable pushrods?

You can set an alert on Ebay for your search terms. I found a set that way but still paid around $300 for 1965 OEM set.

I would think someone could CNC or jet cut "shims" to gain the clearance. Use a thin bit of "gasket maker" to attach to the cover, then normal gasketing to heads.

Use a gasket as a template (or send to a shop to make them).

It's not the height, BUT the width

Is that with respect to roller rockers only, not adjustable pushrods?
