Very cool. I didn't know anyone made these. This sounds like a project part. Rough cast, some assembly required, no base. Still cool since I didn't know any one made them.

Anyone have any experience using one of these (the repro's I mean)? Was thinking about using one, but I'm kinda unsure as to the quality, fit, and finish.

Someone put a lot of effort into making an aluminum casting. Whoever it was would have been much further ahead to make the base instead.

Unfortunately there a lot more to these air cleaner assemblies than just the shell.

If you are interested in a repro check these out.

I bought one last year, the guy was very good to deal with. It's not a concours resto piece but for a driver it works.

There is a guy that has the base made of fiberglass but he wants $200.00 for the base, $500.00 for a complete unit, it too is plastic.

If you use an Edelbrock air cleaner base and roll the edge about an inch and a half it works and you then can use a doulble pumper carb.

If somebody is willing to lone me a base so I can make a mould and can produce them alot cheaper. I know that finding an OE one is tuff because they tend to rust out.

I bought one and made custom for my dads 64 Pontiac Tempest Custom Sedan . Has a 350 with Edlebrock carb and we took an old one cut up and made with pop rivets . It's a ruff case with small holes , gaps , etc . I powder coated mine alone with Old cschool MT valve covers and looks very cool . :beer

    Pics man! Post some pics!

This e-bay guy had some nailhead valve covers too, in similar rough cast finish.

I though about one of these air cleaners for my '66. The cheapo chrome one I bought is starting to rust after only 3 years and VERY few miles.

Here are some pics of my alluminum star wars i bought a year and a half ago. I made an offer of $150 and it was accepted. it was a little rough but an afternoon with a file and some emory and it was fine a machinist friend of mine tapped it for screws. I was luckey anough to find an original base on ebay for $125. A board member gave me the trishield emblem and letters

If anyone is interested in buying an aluminum version of the star wars air cleaner, I have one that won't fit on a 67 340 with A/C  Let me know if you are interested at $150 plus shipping.

I also have one of these aluminum repops. I bought it from the same guy a few years ago and have never done any thing with it.

I will sell it as well for $150.00 plus shipping.
