It's actually more than 3 negatives. When you click on buyers feedback in his profile 8 come up.

I have deleted my prior posts. At this time I am in contact with this gentalmen. He has offered to let me come by and check out his opperation.I appologize to all that have read my posts. There is a guy Named Ted K out of the Heights that has screwed quit a few people in the past.I didn't want anyone getting involved with him.I looked at his feedback and felt for sure it was him again.I still am weary of this deal but for now I'll see whats going on and pass it on.
So I do applogize for my previous comments we all know this is a touchy situation.

Kevin, check him out for the rest of us, and maybe get a feel for what he knows about this whole debacle.

You might have jumped the gun, but it was in looking out for the rest of us.

I am not directly involved in this, nor do i have a direct stake in this.

There have obviously been some setbacks, and delays.

Why don't the bulldog guys come here and explain this?

To me there is a hell of a lot of money wrapped up in this. If it were me I would
be getting those damn things out the door, recoupe some money, get a reputation(for the block), and some interest flowing. This in turn would generate money and make the bottom line better... whatever it looks like. The hard work has been done. Why not pour more? Unless i am missing something(i ask that honestly).

Buick is not that small of deal. with all the latest press coverage, these buick motors are gaining notoriaty. Any one seen the v6 block stuff in this month's HOT ROD with Mike T and Ken Duttweiler? Thats huge.

With that said, the Buick v8 market needs this Block Produced to Grow and become competitive.

BTW... Once again, i think it would be a great idea for Bulldog to represent THEMSELVES here, and put it out on the table. just dispell the myths and rumours. Tell what is going on, and a reallistic, real world ETA on the block.

It is better to under promise and over deliver. If this going to take awhile.. let some people slap something else together to go race. If everyone is kept hanging to racing season, waiting on parts that will not come in time to make something run... well you get the picture.

PLEASE, do not get me wrong. I am not posting to flame. I feel this could go the wrong way if some real answers are not put fourth(by BULLDOG...HERE). And YES i do appreciate someone putting fourth effort to build this block. This in spite of my lack of need/ability to purchase one.

He may have jumped the gun, but you are correct that it was in the folks here best interest. That being said, anyone with 8 negatives should be scrutinized throughly before entering into a deal with these kind of numbers.

    Good Luck All!! :TU:

Well I went to his shop.He does have some bulldog stuff at his shop some mopar stuff some olds heads etc.No blocks.
He does have a bulldog head that is cut apart and the floor raised Claims #'s at 434 in the .700 range. It appears that this is the prototype port for a future head,The exhaust port will be raised also but won't be a stg2 style but stg1 style.I would not count on seeing this anytime soon.I will go into more later

What is the Deal that you are going to check out?. I talked to Dick Thursday about some big Aluminum Engine that was 620+.Dick told me that they where going to have to Build heads for for these Block that was big Inches. Like i said before does anyone no the Stock Bore Spacing. The iron Block is Built of the stock Bore spacing so how big can you bore the New Block tell you run into head Gasket sealing Problems

What am I checking out?Who this guy is promising a March ship date on blocks. This guy is not in our comunity and can promise this!Come on.There are guys here that have their block PAID IN FULL and cannot get a ship date.So being that this guy is in my area I figured I'd rattle his cage for some info and find out who he is.I think most would like the info on who this guy is seeing as few have any clue.

From my under standing you can order the aluminum block with either bore spacing. For the most part for people with TA heads this is useless because your stuck with the stock spacing. The 4.800 spacing will require the bulldog head which will not be out any time soon so in my eyes this is a moot option. If you wish to wait for another 4 years for a new head casting order the spread bore spacing.
From what I saw with the prototype port that he had there it was pretty nice but the exhaust has yet to be done and have no flow #'s with a 450cfm port you will need WELL over 300cfm on the exhaust. They are sticking with the stg1 style port raised up but will it flow they do not know.

Some people have had some problems with Ted.As a person I do not know him being I just met him today. So if one wants to deal with him fine but look at feedback and use your discretion and remember there are 2 sides to every story.

  10. What happens if somebody orders the block with 4.80 bore spacing and then the Bulldog heads for that block never get made?? you have a useless 5000.00 block

Regarding the aluminum blocks I was told that the aluminum were to be the same spacing as the iron blocks as most of us already have heads to transfer onto the new aluminum block. This is why a bunch of us switched over. And I am well aware the iron blocks may be produced first, (as I read on past posts), which I actually don't mind as then I would know my time is coming soon. Is this e-bay ad referring to an entirely "different" designed aluminum block (a third Buick block)that Dick is doing also?

I do not mean to sound rude in any way shape or form to you, but when you spoke to Dick last Thursday, which would have been December 29th did the subject of "when" these or any blocks will be shipped out (not casted) I mean shipped to customers! As I have read numerous times on this site on shipped dates that have come and gone without any block showing up as promised (last post was blocks to be shipped in December). I can understand running into problems at the foundry but to me how many problems can one run into? I just feel that getting it straight up from the gecko would save everyone a ton of grief including Dick himself. Now by not disclosing the real reasons brings up doubts and guys like me that are pulling out. I'll tell ya it is a damn shame.

Another question is how well do you know Dick. Have you gone to his shop and actually seen more than one Buick block and a near completed machined version? Or is this all telephone calls made between. Again I apologize, but after being told many false promises I for one would actually want to see not just the prototype I want to see Buick blocks or someone I would have confidence in that could tell me they actually seen them (more than one or two prototypes). Furthermore can you ask him or do you know what foundry is casting them?

    Thanks,

    Happy New Year Everyone.

    Here's my interim solution:

It wasn't without an agonizing amount of thought, but at least I know I will be racing and not thinking about sitting on a time bomb.

--And the cost of the interim solution is a couple nickles more than the "new" bare BBB aluminum casting.

I still plan to spectate or run my GN at the Nats. If I can work it in, I do plan on hitting Norwalk a couple times with my new "hybrid".

As I agree that most failures are probably operator error or poor machining/prep, I've gone down every road without much luck. The only consolation I've had is that the resale for BBB performance parts hold well. Thanks to all of you that have bought my stuff, so I can stay in the game.

Relax Junior. Get your underwear out of its bunch.

I still like my Buick(s). When funds, time and perhaps a new block shows up I'll go back. Overall I enjoy this community and I'm not forcing my decision down your throat. I did list my car up for sale here as a roller, but decided I had too much into it, to start over.

When youre ready for a whippen, come look me up. :3gears:

Whippen from you right. What a Jerk. Anyone can purchase a BBC it takes a real man to be a Buick owner. You will never go back to the Buick World. Might as well sell your car. Let a real Buick Fan own it. At least they would not deface it :moonu:

I will gladly accept any bbc powerd buicks challenge. It takes more than a magazine article to make a buick fast, any idiot can make a bbc fast. Unless you are making over a 1000 hp with a buick the block is not the problem.
