Year after year mike you get on here and call people names and pounding your chest about bull dog like DB is some sort of hero:Dou: I have NOT posted anything to do with BD in many months, you on the other hand keep calling anyone that post anything negative about Dick names. I get sick of it along with many others on here. This whole DB-BD thing can be read on the buick, dodge and caddy websites everywhere. Most of what you speak in your above post is BS. I just had to empty my pm's because they are full. You have your opinion from dealing with dick and I have mine. Mike this is childish, if you care to pm or phone me feel free to call my number it is posted. Chris

Where have I called you names? Im not seeing that. And Im not pounding my chest about Bulldog my posts are intended to inform and you started this conversation by stating the "Horses butt" comment. If building a block was so easy anyone could do it. I am not happy with how long it has taken nor anyone I talked too. TA wont build a block in a year either I say 3 years before its out.....maybe longer. R&D takes a buttload of time. I KNOW about this personally on my own parts I build.
For the record TA Performance has been and always will be my high performance parts supplier. I was told by Mike prior to me ordering the block that he wasnt ready to build one yet. Then after I ordered mine he had a change of heart and stated he was going to do one. Too late for me but maybe you can send in your money to get the 2 you wanted.
Dick Bradshaw hasnt been forthright over this ordeal as he should have been either. I will admit that, but if things have been out of his control how can he produce a quality part if he cant get it finished?? But the fact remains that you have nothing to gain by belittling the situation everytime the BD name comes up. WHY?? YOU HAVE NO MONEY OUT!
I want to ask you a serious question , What have you ever manufacturered to sell to the buick community? I have done multiple parts and peices. I will give you an example as to why I am "pounding my chest" as you say. When I built the 68-9 core support patch kits I said right up front that 3 months from now I would deliver. Then I took deposits.... After 3 months of jacking around with the metal company they had never even looked at my part much less put it to program so it could get made. after the 6th month I finally had a sample in my hands from another metal fabricator. After 9 months I had the second sample. I was livid!!! Companies want big orders otherwise they dont get excited about the deal. I wanted this thing DONE in my time frame and I was 6 monthes out from the time I was told at first when it could be done. Now I know tin vs an engine block are 2 different worlds but the same applies here. A guy has an idea and if he cant supply it on a prescribed date and now he becomes worthless ?? I think not. Try walking in his shoes a while let me help you think about it for a second....... He gets a couple blocks ready to cast the foundry see's a limited run not worth the money to pursue so they tell him to get lost. Now he has to find another foundry set it all up negotiate the deal. We are talking about only what 25 blocks here?? The average foundry cant even hardly set up a job for less than 500 parts to make it worth the time to do it. I know as I wanted to cast the floor shifter handles for the 68-9 auto trans. Now then the machine shop dumps him out the door for the same reason "Not enough money " so now he has all these people breathing down his throat and with all this key board diarrhea floating around I ask you another question Why would he come here or anywhere to talk about these blocks, heads or whatever?? Everyone that has their hard earned money out should be spouting off not people who have NOTHING out of pocket. I have nothing to gain by defending Dick, NOTHING he is a businessman that has made some choices over the course of this deal that dont set well with most but know this I know the deal he has faced, set back after set back does not make it easier to face those who have sent in money for a part that hasnt been supplied yet. When you decide to make a part to sell that everyone wants I hope that you get it done on time. :TU:

ps. I wont be commenting about you or your opinion "here" any longer. The next comments I will make will be in pm's or emails Thank you...

Is there a pile of cast blocks just waiting to be machined? I don't have a nickel invested in this, nor will I ever use one, but from a totally unbiased perspective, it doesn't seem reasonable that the machine shop would be the hold up.

I deal with lots of machine shops (worldwide), and there are plenty of high tech, high quality, machine shops hungry for business in the US. If I had a pile of castings that needed to be machined, prints to follow, and even an example of an already machined block, I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to find a machine shop, to at least partially finish the machining, if not completely finish.

How many of these block are on "backorder"?

Just a thought from an outside observer,
    Brett

I think this has been Chris' point the whole time. There is no reason to be dishonest in business.

Mike, :Dou: :Dou: :Dou: The guy keeps taking peoples money on the grounds that they will recieve a new block within weeks:Dou: He won't deal with the public for a reason. He took a bunch of peoples money to do a job, the job is not done, they have no block, dick spent there money. I DON'T CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES it is NOT about time, it's about the things he said to get in to peoples wallets. Up here it's called FRAD. Was it whinners or winners:Dou: By the way I called dick the horses butt not you and I think after 5 years it is time for him to defend him self. He can sign up here any time he likes:rolleyes: Its real easy to shoot your mouth of over a computer, I would love to see Dick Brad shaw at BG or BPG alot of people have alot of guestions, I hope to be at one of them maybe we can set it up:beer ..........Chris

Had I not demanded my money back (A joke in itself).........By my estimation,You wouldn't have a Block.

Waiting for my "thank you" for stepping aside:rant:

The bottom line is lies........You know this Mike,I know you know BS doesn't build integrity.
This day and age of internet,You better be able to do what you say you're gonna do,Or people will be warned and you poor business practices will bite you in the ASS!

Chris is right....There's no argument here....those that don't like it...don't have to comment on his posts...but you can't say he is wrong for informing people.

For the other couple people that aren't posting their progress w/ their BD blocks,Who cares!!!,Good or bad,It's not like a bunch of people will be able to run out and buy a block to duplicate a build up they find impressive.

DB's promise/BS has frozen progress in Buick Performance.......It's a shame

Gees guys, enough already. Thought we were all on the same team here. In my opinion I thought it was a noble cause for the dozen or so guys to step up and try to get a repro BBB off the ground. It certainly opened up the imagination for people like me to perahps some day own one. For most it has been a bad experience so far. A couple of years ago I sent money off to an outfit that was to supply me with some rust free quarters and trunk floor. Two thousand bucks worth with shipping. When they didn't show up I felt like an idiot for sending the money with no real guarantee of the parts arriving. They never did, and my wife keeps reminding me about it every so often. Yes it's almost a shameful feeling being duped like that. Thing is, you can't agonize over it for too long or it'll drive you crazy. Myself? I could have used someone in my corner telling me the jerk I sent money to was a waste of skin. Bottom line is the personal attacks on Chris for his verbal abuse of someone that has been less than forthright with our fellow Buick citizens was uncalled for. I was hoping we as a group could put ourselves above this sort of in-house squabble. Tom

Mike, no personal hostility about that comment, but I do see some serious irony here. You're defending the indefensible if you really believe, "character counts."

Bradshaw is obviously of low character, on several occasions making promises on delivery he knew full-well he could not meet. As far as I know, he hasn't fully delivered to-date on any of his projects. Maybe he can't get machinists because he isn't properly dealing with them either? "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for some machine-work today?" The guy could deliver updates, but all there is are smoke and mirrors about what is happening over the last 4+ years.

I have the cash to buy several blocks and would buy one today were it available; I asked about escrow accounts a long time ago, and got no response. The shadiness of this whole thing is the reason I didn't put up the money, and my instincts were right. I've been waiting to replace my girdled 494 block this whole time!

I still contend that TA will fill all of their block orders before Bulldog delivers on all of theirs.

Maybe the purchasers can demand their castings (since they do exist, right?) and contract TA to do the machine work? That is, if TA has the excess capacity and interest.

Seriously, I think this is the first situation where I've really disagreed with Mike's opinion. :Do No: And that's going all the way back to the "old" Buick Bulletin Board.

My turn. I paid my $2000.00 deposit when the blocks first were advertised and paid my balance in full when they were "ready to ship in two weeks" back in '04. So far, no block, no communication, and no money back. I want out. Somebody can step up and have my order. Just send your $4490.00 in to them and they will probably "ship it to you in two weeks." I have begun proceedings, both civil and criminal. I will not be a fool any longer. Dennis

    Dennis,

Regarding your"I have begun proceedings, both civil and criminal. I will not be a fool any longer." statement:

Were you dealing directly with Dick Bradshaw, or one of the Buick parts/services suppliers?

    Just curious.
