My life is wonderful, thank you Mr. Nameless.

My intent is not to irritate you per se, but to help you understand what you are up against from a project management standpoint. If you throw in the towel based on my comments alone, face it...you were never qualified to head up something like this to begin with. If you let this kind of crap irritate you overnight when you are supposed to be enjoying your life, you waited too long to walk away.

If you're truly serious about this, go for it balls out.

No, block should have to be repaired. What I'm saying is that IF something were to happen it could be fixed. An iron block can not be fixed. TA's aluminum block is about $6500.
Rod has made 1200-1500hp, for years and never blew one up. The iron would crack but it still ran with out blowing up. If you can afford to try to make 1000 hp Buick.. you can afford a $6500 block.

Here.. I'll save you the pain of beating your head against the wall when your done with this thread... Have your friends call Mike at TA.. 480-922-6807. I believe he just finished a run of Aluminum blocks.
As for the grenade issue.. again it's all in the tuning.

I will have to inform him of this. I know my brother-in-law and if there is one out there.. he has it. So he will be glad to know his search is over.

The Buick community is very bitter over the Bulldog block issue. I hope you have very thick skin.

Pretty please stop with the insults? I asked nicely, does that help?

Let me try to make this clear. I will not EVER take a single dime from anyone EVER for a block, ever. I DO NOT have anything to do with the manufacturing of the blocks. I DO NOT get anything out of this. I DO NOT WANT YOUR MONEY... Clear enough?

My goal is to try and you guys together with a well respected legitimate manufacturer to take another run at producing a block. I get you together, I hand you off... It's that simple.

If you want to hold on to what happened in the past go ahead and knock yourself out. I'd appreciate it if you would do it elsewhere because that has nothing to do with this and it does nothing but put a negative spin on what I'm trying to organize.

One of them already has a deposit on a block and the other will probably have no choice but to buy one. One of the issues as I understand it is that the TA block only accepts a custom oil pan, custom timing cover/belt drive, and only custom solid roller cams? Add those items to a $6500 block and things get out of control pretty quick. If factory type items bolt up please correct me if I wrong, because that would be great news.

I understand people got burnt in the Bulldog fiasco, but you have to move on someday. I know it sucks, but if you want to be competitive in today racing classes you need an aftermarket block to keep up.

Where do I get one of those little popcorn eating guys to go with :eek2: I think this time it is going to be "the cheque is in the mail" not like last time "the block is in the mail" I hope the molds belong to the investors, being the people that are still owed/out money from the bulldog scam. Yes, asking nicely was a big plus! I am going to call you Basil, he was my neighbor who tought me many things automotive. Please consider this a compliment.

You've finally told us a bit of info that should've been upfront, most importantly that you're just trying to get an idea of our interest without necessarily being a part of the whole concept/prototype/production phases. I appreciate that you're acting as a liason between us and the folks who will be making a business plan.

Basil, as a liason, please pass along the input that many folks would love to see any option when it comes to aftermarket help for us. No doubt about it. TA is obviously at the front now, but there are still those who would like to see IRON.

I would jump on this in a second. If someone is offering to try and make something happen for our community, why the hell do people chase the person away with tales of other issues? this person is gauging interest and trying to help us, i don't understand buick guys sometimes and i have had buicks for many years.

Yeah I can see how the "Aftermarket iron 455 Buick block - Interest?" thread title was confusing for you. I would clearly get "hey give me your money for a block" out of that.

YOU are what is wrong with the Buick community :TU:

Saying it on the website doesn't make it reality. I read that too. Considering that to my knowledge, none of the blocks that have been produced will accept factory parts, I'd say my statement rings true... but like I said correct me if I'm wrong. So far I'm not.

Once again, you've failed. Basil, my last paragraph was intended to give you my positive reinforcement for your project. We would love to see iron.

Chill, dude. You're already getting good feedback for an iron block. Don't f*ck it up!

Do Mr. Cacciotti and Mr. Gostyla need to find a better market tester?

Get some armor plating in front of your skin.

Not a good start already. Your understanding is way off base, here is a link to TA's block(s) 3 versions to pick from. Look at the stock replacement block. http://www.taperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TA_4550 I'm not trying to bust your balls, you asked to be corrected. I say stick to trying to get the cast iron blocks made without taking a swing at TA's products. Chris

All BS aside, I think this guy could be sincere. After all, he's not asking for money, just a gauge in interest. I fully understand the volatility of this subject, as long as it isn't something from TA, but c'mon guys, what's wrong with just listening to the guy and giving any input? It doesn't cost anything to do that ......yet.

I agree David, read post 34. I had to repost it because for what ever reason only 1/2 the post showed up:Dou: I do however think if he is sincere about this A) he would let us know who he is and who is backing this and B) why the dig on TA, its twice so far that he has tried to discredit TA. Not a good way to keep it positive. Chris

If this is all it took to kill a wish, we just saved another ___ thousand dollars.

    Fill in the freakin blank.

When someone else decides to step up, they will get the same from me. I can run a potential supplier through the entire works if need be. I cannot stand to see anyone else burned.

A supplier worth their salt will not have to worry about me, an insignificant internet voice. If they are driven, they will test the market.

Who would be backing it is on the first page. I'm not sure how you missed it? I think I've been pretty clear and upfront about everything so far.

What I said wasn't meant to be a dig on TA. I was merely stating what I've been told. If factory parts don't fit what they have casted so far, they they don't fit (Like I said, if they do fit, please correct me). It's more of a statement of fact than a "dig" at someone.

Devon, I totally agree with both you and Chris. BUT, I hate to see a "potential" prospect go the wayside because of past indescretions when it comes to this subject. It doesn't seem healthy to me to judge so hastily. Now, if he asks for money any time soon.........later man!

But until then, why not entertain the thought?

i am actually pretty ashamed right now. I understand that people are cautious because of Bulldog, but there are some people that act like ravenous wolves. I thought we were, "Fast with Class", but that doesn't seem to be the case. I for one am very interested in an alternative block in iron. I don't think we hear people out before we react. Would you want to go forward and try to help out people after these responses? We have it tough enough trying to make do with limited vendors and the high cost of Buick parts. TA has great parts, but do not have every part under the sun. My cars would have never been as fast as they are without TA parts, but I also want the option of an iron block eventually for my street/strip car that I am hopeful will run 8s. Can we recover from this type of a post and at least be cordial without reverting to attacking?

It's amazing to me that you would be proud of trying to ruin the chances of the Buick community getting an iron block. I understand trolling someone, I'm a pro at it, but what you are doing is totally counterproductive for everyone else.

If I didn't have complete confidence in AllPontiac to produce a block, I wouldn't have stuck my neck out for this project. Think sh*t through before you start jumping all over someone next time.
