In my 82 REGAL the 2 lower optional gauge pods is where I'm putting 2 aftermartket gauges, where the factory ones would be, mounted to the face of the optional gauge surfaces, behind the glass. I bought the optional gauge cluster off eBay for $5, using it for the parts. I'll post pictures when it's finished.
While we're talking about gauge clusters, can anyone tell me if this one is unique to the T-type, or if all '83 Regals had this cluster design. It looks very different than the ones posted on gnxdash.com Pic
thats pretty much what they looked like from 78-83 but you have the extra gauges ,temp and boost for turbo cars 84 up they changed design
Ok, that's good to know that the gauge cluster housing isn't some rare turbo-specific piece. I'll probably pick up a spare one from a junkyard to put together my aftermarket gauges when the time comes.
Bought a turbo cluster on eBay for $5, used the 2 lower optional gauge pods for my aftermarket gauges, then installed them into my my V8 Regal standard cluster...
Tach gauge?????? What tach gauge will fit where clock isn't. Would like one from factory car. I have a 82 Sport Coupe. Diver
Aftermarket 2" or 2~1/16" gauge will fit in any of the 5 pods... Here is a list of most 2" and 2~1/16" tachs on the market... http://egauges.com/eg_typeI.asp?Typ...etter=All&Needle=All&Diameter=2 1/16&Manf=All As far as using a factory GM tach from another vehicle in that location, can't help you with that one. That will require extensive research on your part.
