I am looking for other peoples views on these frames that are coming out with suspension in place, lowered ride height, narrowed frame rails. Detroit Speed front suspension, and body mount holes as original and etc. Not for the matching numbers car, but would make a nice protouring vehicle. 64-72 Chevelle chassis. One that i have been looking at is made by the Roadster Shop. WWW.roadstershop.com and are made for all A-bodies. Very pricey at this point. Has anyone bought one of these and installed their skylark body on it?

    Thanx,

I've been looking at them too. I think the next phase for these cars (A body's and muscle cars in general) will be the handling/driving improvements. It brings the cars into the current technology and adds another dimension. I don't think they will sell many to the average joe however. How much of this could be done with the original frame and suspension components? Wish I had the money. Mike D.

Here are my feelings on the expense and the average joe. I have a big build engine all done, app. 550 hp. I have a nice donor car from Calif.-71 skylark a/c car all original sheet metal in good shape being the donor for this frame and cloning it to a 70 GSX. Now with this big build, i will be able to jump into it at 50 mph and show some real power in that band and if you put a five or six speed in it, this will give us an opportunity to compete with some of these youngins and there top end cars, which is not what these cars were all about, but, with a new tech frame and handling, and now introduce a five or six speed tranny you have the best of both worlds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,look at the price now...............not so shabby at all. My 70 GS clone with 373 gears tears my heart out on the highway just going to the next town for a cruise night. I don't even bother anymore. Now, if you redo an oem frame and keep track of all the components and time with labor, you would be surprised what you can spend. I really feel like this would put these buicks more in a league by themselves. Okay that being said, all i need is a winning lottery ticket...................

I'm with Alan here,Art Morrison's stuff is very nice, pricey though.I really like the '55 chevy frame with the Vette front and triangulated 4 bar rear suspension. My ideal car will perform well on the street, strip and roadcourse, that's a very tall order and something along the way of those frames and suspension packages should allow that type of performance IMHO.I need to hit the lottery too,but I don't play:Dou: .

I saw the roadshop frame at Goodguys this year. It is a very nice peice. I would own one in a second but I think they are too expensive 15K for a frame setup is a good chunk of change. I think that is with some standard supsension and brake package but price goes up from there. Something to keep in mind though.
