    Bill, that is correct for our '70 cars.
    The only one reproducing them right know are CARS, and they are a pain to deal with.
    I know someone else is currently looking in to redoing them., so hopefully that works out.

    The GM #1373828 is correct for the 1965 thru 68 all "A" bodies with chrome wheels.
    The right is correct for the 1970 thru 1985 small lug pattern chrome rallyes. GM still has them available for a small fortune.
    Check with Mark Reeves on this board from time to time about OEM reproductions. We're looking into the need for another source.

    David, what Mark is looking to do is the new one on the left.
    That is what came on the 1970 cars from the factory.

    Now I am confused. I thought David said the one on the right is correct for a 1970 car, and the one on the left (the new one) is correct for 65 - 68 cars.

    But then Jeff said the one on the left is correct for a 70 car.

    Which is correct for a 70 car? Duane, where are you???

    I have one nos nut... the one on the left, and the one on the right is the one year one is selling as orginal.... as you can see it's a lot smaller.

    GM shows the 1373828 is for the 65-68 cars

    #414188 shows for the 69 thru 75 cars or thru 85 to get technical, of which this number has changed to the number being used today.
    I'll run a history check on the 1373828 to see what happened to that part number on Thursday and I will post back here then.

    David, if I remember right, what you show is probably the over the counter replacement for the 1970.
    I think it might even be the one with the steel sleeve over the nut, but not sure for certain.

    Different than what the factory actually put on in 1970.

    I'm sure Duane will chime in here at some point.

    Just a PS
    DO NOT use air tools on the early ones as they will be badly hurt.

    Thanks for the info...
    I live about hour away from them and have been there numerous times..for parts for my 70 GS....I will have to take a run up there and see what they have...never had a problem with them,as others have....but I dealt with them face to face... Thanks again.:TU:

    GoldBoattail455 462 -> TH400 -> Posi

    The longer/taller ones are so that when the mechanic took off the Buick Road Wheels he would not chip the paint on the wheels. That's all i know concerning wheel nuts.

    According to GM #1373828 chrome nut for the 65-68 wheels, never changed part numbers. Discontinued in 07/83. I do not have anything that states any difference.
    But...
    the 69-thru 85 nut reads as follows,
    399683=9780732=414188=12387947.
    If I remember correctly the last 3 numbers were all a little different from each other as the numbers updated.
    Just another thing to make a restorer go :Dou:
