A single runner in my intake manifold is getting very warm.

Hey guys, this is my first post but I have been stalking for awhile and appreciate all the advice I have read on others posts. I am a little stumped on the fact that one of my intake manifold runners appears to run much hotter than the rest, even melting my fresh paint off. Any advice helps, I am going to complete a compression test on that side of the engine to ensure I am getting correct compression and nothing is funky there. Thank you all so much!! If it's the middle of the drivers side you are referring to, that's normal as there is a heat passage to pre heat the carb that originally carried exhaust gas from a stove on the manifold through a tube. it gets hot.

I feel a little silly now, yes it is that one, thank you for your time!

Take the intake off and block all the exhaust crossover holes with I believe 18 MM freeze plugs. If you drive in cooler weather drill a single 1/4" hole in the plug nearest the choke coil. The cooler intake will be worth some extra HP and the intake paint will stay nice.

Dont feel silly, thats hot exhaust gas going thru there, it will melt anything. Im sure its burned on the pass. side too.
