Was at our local monthly cruise inn last night which is held at a BBQ joint just on the outside of town. As Im looking over some of the cars a older gent and his wife starts running down a 50's pick up with a LS in it. going on about this and that blah blah blah. Didnt say much. Then he looks at me and says "I got the fastest thing here" Had my attn faster than if his wife had showed her boobs. Oh yeah? What ya got? New F150 with the 2.3 L eco boost. So I start to smile. Guy says "I'll run anyone here for $1000.00. I point across the way at the old Buick.. Howabout that orange car? I'll run you on a prepped track but not on the street. Says NO here and now. Then he pulls out a Dyno sheet. Shows 238hp and 360 Lb tq. He's all proud. Me: Ok I got about 70.00 in my pocket and we'll line em up on this access road that runs out to a area getting developed for a new shopping center. Mr Ecoboost grabs his dyno sheet out of my hand and turns to get into his truck being pushed along by the wife. I say Common man. you got 800 pounds on me.. lets run. Wife says something like Honey lets go, dont get started.. They mount up and leave. Thought the whole thing was pretty funny.
Oh and he had white marker number 50 on his side and rear window like it had been to the track. Wish the Riv could have schooled him

Awe Steve, I feel for you man... Reminds me of a car show maybe 10 years ago I was at with my son and the "11.0" T-Regal in my avatar. Guy running his mouth about his 70, 440 Super Bee being the baddest thing there. Yea, yea, yea... I'm just ignoring him. A voice behind me in the crowd that's gathering yells "wanna run that white Regal for $500"??? I'm thinking I know that voice... It was Richard Lassiter with this big grin on his face challenging the guy. GSCA had just built/dynoed my V6 in their shop so Richard knew what I had and what it runs. Richard is all up in this guy's business when the guy looks at his watch and says "oh man I gotto go, I'm late"! Mikey
