It's a rainy, all around crapy day here and for once I don't feel like working in the shop or waisting my time watching the Packers lose again, so I thought that I would post a few pictures of my summer progress on my new drag car. I hope to have it in primer and ready to make a few shakedown passes by spring. Let me know what you think, good or bad. Steve
Steve....Looking good! I see the same quality work going into that car as you've given me with your oil pans and such!:TU: BTW....I like those "elephant ears" going from the heads to the frame. I made a set of those out of 3/4" plate aluminum (sorry, I forgot the alloy right off of the top of my head) a couple of years back when my Procharger project was still my plan. They are still sitting on my shelf waiting for a purpose. I wish you much continued success...:3gears:
As usual Steve awesome work, you do everything with perfect attn to detail dont ya, wanna come help me with my car??? LOL cant wait to see it, will it be ready for next season? i hoping my car will get done for next season since this one is just about over :ball: but it will be worth the wait.
pics Thanks for the kind words! It's been a tough summer, working full time, keeping SRE going part time, and building this thing! With all of the customer jobs coming up, I hope that I have enough time to get it ready for some test and tune in 06! I have to keep telling myself, "it's just a race car, not a show car!" Thanks again, Steve
Looks great Steve. Make sure you set it up with lots of leg room, just in case you want someone else to drive.
Color The plan for the car is to be Apollo white with the full GSX treatment, along with a few personal touches. Yes Shayne, it does have a fully adjustable drivers seat! Steve
I was wondering...... Steve , How you going to take the Family out for an Ice cream cone in that car? (Just Kidding) Oh by the way Nice Last Name Don Reynolds
Wow Steve, awesome looking!!!! Apparently a good work ethic to build your race car like a show car. :TU: BTW it was nice meeting you at KK this last summer. Guy ps. I like your choice of color and paint scheme
Drag car Bill, I didn't want to have my back wheels sit too far inboard, (mainly for looks), so I decided to stretch the wheel well openings forward by 2". Guy, It was nice to meet you this summer as well. Your GSX race car looks great! Although I already had the color scheme picked out, seeing your car just solidified my decision! There can never be enough GSX race cars in WI! Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve , Looking perfect as usual. If you have any interior issues let me know if I can help! Would still like to get together sometime soon. Any "Burn em till they blow" parties in the future? Keep in touch, Mike
Interior Yes Mike, I need some interior pieces! I will talk to you about my needs tonight or soon! Thanks, Steve
