87 grand national BRF trans

    FCBBF5A5-A5BB-4CCA-B1A8-975074814647.jpeg 1A7FBDA3-9A6F-44FA-BABC-DD0B882749E6.jpeg I bought some core transmissions, I noticed one had BRF stenciled on the top. When I cleaned the tag, sure enough, it’s a 87 BRF 200R4. I’d like to reunite this trans with the car if possible

    I've only seen yellow or blue tags on 86- 87 2004r's.

    I haven’t been on the turbo buick site in years. If anyone wants to copy this thread, please do.

    I have no clue if it’s really a BRF model. I haven’t torn it down, I don’t think the valve body is in it. Other than checking servo casting numbers, or having the actual matching VIN car, I have no idea how to actually verify it’s the real thing.

    I have maybe 100 bucks in this, I have no desire to hold it for a ransom. If someone out there has the car this belongs with, I’d like to make it whole again.

    Those turbo boys will know as much as Larry does.:D
    Just took a peek at tag on mine, it has BRF in the stamped numbers.

    From my experience, the green tags were usually rebuilds from Hydramatic. My Fathers El Camino has the same style tag and has the labels from Hydramatic as being a factory rebuild.
