If 525 HP is a handful, I don't think you want anything to do with this motor.. :eek2:

This would be a good package for a competative NHRA super comp dragster.. and if I recall correctly, they typically run 165-175 MPH..

Lots of 800-900 HP combos there. That's an 8.90 index class, so it's hard to say on et..

Et calculator says 7.19 at 186 mph, but lots of variables in that equation.

Like keeping the bottom end in it if you try and spin it past 7500 rpm.. with as much torque as this makes (750 torque is typical for a 1200 HP BBC) I would imagine you would need real low 3 series gears.

Doug's right.. If I had to duplicate this engine, that figure is going to come into play.. There is quite a bit of custom work in this engine, far beyond the normal building costs. I have build many 10-12K engines, and this one is easily 4-8 K beyond them, all things considered, depending upon a number of variables.

I feel that as soon as TA comes out with the Tomahawk V-8 block and it's matching heads, we will be able to build far beyond this HP level, for about this kind of money, or maybe even less.

That is Richie Kepler's "Carolina Barbeque" car. When it had a 274 Buick in it I think it ran a 7.8. Then he installed the Tubo Chev motor. I think someone told me they were now outlawed at the local tracks around here.

holy .... would like to have that amount of horsepower in my 65 riviera ... whitout making this so obvious to the other people and especially to the german TÜV (the ones who approve all cars in germany for road-legality ). excellent engine ... or is this more like a buick-"powerplant"?????:3gears:
