80Turbo ta diff

Hi I've had given to me a complete diff from an 80 trans am im told its a 3.08 posi 8.5 housing I dont know a heck of alot about diffs but will the posi unit and gears fit my 71 lark? My diff is a 8.5 open rear not sure what gears are in it

 

The posi and gears will fit your lark rear. A direct swap.

It is a 3 series posi carrier so it can hold 2.76 ratio and numerically larger.

3.08 is an excellent all around gearset for street performance, especially with manual trans or 3 spd auto trans like a th350.

 

Not sure what splines my axles are 28 Im told will they also fit? The rear in my car is original as far as ive researched it

 

They are 28 as well, your good to go

 

Is it a WS6 rear, with discs? If so, you might be able to sell it complete for good money.
