I am selling my 76 Skylark to fund another project. Please look in the "Buick vehicles for sale" section for pictures and a description. Thanks, Randy Note! car is no longer shown in the "Buick vehicles for sale" section. Time ran out on the ad. If you want more pictures, just send me a PM or an email at: rlsprague@hotmail.com THE SKYLARK IS SOLD AND HAS A NEW HOME IN NASHVILLE! THANKS SCOTT
Randy, I have a question. If you removed the padded top, is it the same as a regular skylark underneith? Or are the rear side windows different underneith?
The quarter windows on this car are the same as the standard coupe, the interior trim panels and the landau roof just cover them up. I have pulled back the trim panel and followed the glass back with my hand, so I am sure this one is built that way. I was going to strip the vinyl roof off too, and even bought a used set of the vertical louvers that cover the B-pillar when the standard window trim is used. You would have to find a set of the interior quarter window trim panels with the larger window opening, and possibly the chrome trim that goes around the perimeter of the quarter windows on the exterior, although some cars just had that trim area painted the same as the body color. Are you interested in the car? Let me know, Randy
Heavy D, I sent you a PM. Will try to get pictures for you later today, but I need your email address. You are first in line for the car.
Just a quick update. The car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to sell it if someone other than a V8 board member steps up with the cash. I am not trying to step on anyones toes here, just clarifying the sale info. Randy
Randy, I tried to email twice but it keeps getting kicked back. I got your pm on my email but it doesnt show up here. I did not receive the pictures you sent. Computers are great until they dont work.
Heavy D, I'm glad we got the email/pictures issue resolved. Let me know if you have any questions about the car. Thanks, Randy
And some more pictures....Like that trunk floor? Other than a little dirt, it looks like it just came from the factory. That is the way I bought it. I haven't even run a vacuum in it yet.
I will take $1100 cash for the car as it sits if you come and get it. I need to move on with my other projects. Anybody here interested?
If I were to paint my 76 Skylark and get a new grill *cough* there would be two 76 Skylarks in South Kansas. Anyways, it doesn't look like you will part out the car *cough grill*, but my 76 doesn't have the hood emblem. Is the emblem glued on by some means or is it mounted with screws, and is it original to the 76 Skylarks?
I will have to check to see how the hood emblem is mounted. Everthing you see on this car is original equipment from the factory, except for the mirrored window tint on the back and quarter windows, and the "3rd brakelight" and the wal-mart console tray the original owner added. I have removed most of the tint from the rear window, but haven't taken any of it off of the quarter windows yet. I won't part the car. It is 33 years old and only has 80K miles on it. I really thought someone here on the board would pick this up at the $1100 price, but I guess I will have to sell it somewhere else. Later, Randy
ramkat2, i wish i could take it off your hands, i just dont have the room. 76jman, i have a few grill's but they are 75 grills. let me know if you are interested.
Ya, wormwood is there any special requirements to install the 75 grill on my 76? I'm actually waiting to hear back from the gentleman in Canada who was going to the junkyard, but this offer sounds interesting.
i dont know for sure, but i think it won't be any problem installing at all, just will have a slight different look. i'll try to get a picture. or take a close look at my avitar.
1976jman, here are a some pictures of the hood ornament, as well of a few more of the car now that I gave it a bath. The hood ornament goes through the hood and has a formed metal nut that holds it on. The ornament itself is spring loaded, so that it can flex in different directions without breaking off.
