I need to know the correct way of installing the missing seat belt switch on my 72 GS. The same with installing the rear speaker and cable routing. It would help if anyone has the assembly diagram.

Dark blue wire runs from the radio to the right rear speaker.
Brown wire runs from the radio to the left rear speaker.

Thanks. My 72 has 1 rear speaker (RT), are they supposed to have 2 rear speakers?

    Not with just the fader.

Normally two speakers = stereo radio/8track
I ordered, Feb 1970, a Chevelle Malibu with dual rear speakers + am radio. The speakers had an insulated box about them in the trunk.

I'm in the interior assembly stage and have just the RT rear speaker and a stereo radio with an 8 track. So this means I'm missing the LT rear speaker.

I'm confused. The stereos came with 1 in the front and 2 rear?

Two front speakers in the wiring diagram.

You can see the two light green wires at the radio in the wiring diagram in post #2:

Much of the answer to your questions depend on the type of radio your car came with and whether you are trying to keep it correct/original. I can tell you on my 1972 GS Stage 1 car, it came with a Sonomatic AM radio (with fader).

With this radio, you had a single front 10 ohm 4" x 10" speaker mounted in the top of the dash with a unique bracket. (see pic).

For the rear speaker it was a single lead 10 ohm 6" x 9" speaker that was grounded to the package tray. (see pic). The wiring for the rear speaker was a single blue wire that ran under the carpet on the passenger side from the radio to the speaker, mounted on the passenger side of the package tray. (see mounting hardware pic)

Todd carries the Blue lead and the mounting hardware. Turnswitch.com carries the correct front speaker (no bracket though). The rear speaker is a little more difficult to find, but you could go with a two lead 6" x 9" speaker as long as it is 10 ohm (assuming you are using an original radio).
