I have detailed pics of the build sheet that shows it as a real Stage car although, I asked for certain pictures and haven't received them yet. Is anyone on here living near Cliffside Park, New Jersey that would care to go take a look at it and verify the build sheet VIN matches the VIN of the car?

I too think he is well overpriced and am considering making an offer but I really need to have eyes on it prior to making a bid, whether it be my eyes or someone from the board here.

If I can get anyone interested in taking a look-see at this car that'd be great. Knowing some of the history of it from investigating it here on the board, I would be interested in knowing the latest thoughts on price point (value) that people think it should be at. I have been watching the '70's for years but really am not all that familiar with what the '71's are worth finished out or in this case the condition it's in. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated as well as volunteers to look at it for me.
    Thank you.

Yeah, I'm still in talks with the current dealer, haven't made an offer as I need to see it first in person. I've been watching it for the past couple of weeks and have emailed him back and forth a few times, he is a hard one to get information out of, that's why it's taking so long.

I have checked all I can without seeing it in person to validate the numbers matching part and how bad the surface rust is on the top surfaces. I am still looking for someone to look at it in person for me if anyone is interested. Please PM me if you can look at it for me.

Anyone care to estimate value the car finished as a very good condition driver.

I hate to say this, but since you asked... I can think of 4 '71 Stage 1 hardtops in the past few years (1 a 4-sp NOM & one a body off NOM - Both of those a couple years ago) that were very nice drivers. The other 2 were matching #'s & very recent w/all orig. sheetmetal as well. All were somehow or other documented. Afaik, the only one that actually sold only did so because it was a no-reserve auction. The otjer 3 may have only been listed on here which isn't necessarily the best place to sell a car so... But based on all that, $50k would be max. & that's in a good market (which is crazy right now) and you'd probably have at least $30k into gettting it into that condition unless you're painting it yourself and that's assuming it has the right carb./dist. I'm not saying not to buy this car, but only if you really love it whatever reason(s).

Great Scott. Another dealer peddling a project? The last vestiges of this hobby are being laid to waste. I wouldn't buy it from a dealer on principle.

Whoever buys it, PLEASE leave the spoiler off.
