    Couple rookie questions about Aeroquip Flex hose and fittings.

    Our original hard fuel line was crimped and we had to cut a section out. We went with our local auto parts black rubber fuel line and it works.. but problem is over time it rots out and leaks and we have to keep replacing. Not to mention I'm always worried about a fire... A buddy of mine suggested I abandon the cheap fuel line and go with something like the Blue fuel line from Aeroquip. Not having any experience to this type of product, I wanted to know;

    1. Can I buy something like 3 ft and cut with a razor to length I actually need once I have it in my hands or does it have some sort of end on the hose that you can't touch. Meaning it would need to be ordered to exact length.
    2. Anything I need to know about ordering the fittings for the Fuel pump and the Holley for our stock 350? Size, part number, angle... etc.

    Thank you!

    We have a Holley 80457S http://www.holley.com/0-80457S.asp

    The current fittings are
    Fuel Pump: Stock Outlet fitting (attached to hard line)
    Holley: It has the standard hose fitting. Attaching a photo from the manual. HollyInlet80457s.jpg

    yes , should be 3/8" - looks like standard holley banjo fitting . and that's a 600 cfm carb .
    checked the mr gasket line kit - braided with clamp ends - yeah that could work depending on fitting on pump .
    check www.summitracing.com - search part #SUMG3154 ( clamp style ) , and part #EDL8123 ( small block chevy braided but with AN ends ) which would require AN style fittings on your pump and carb . not a huge deal , better than clamps , not too expensive , a little more "race" lookin . just have to do your AN homework .
    and there could be other choices too but that'll give ya an idea .

    I went with the Mr. Gasket version. Since I still have significant line (a good foot) from the pump heading up towards the carb, figured I would get about 3' so that I can cut and have extra for another day. Attach one end to the Holley carb fitting and about a 1 foot section to the remaining hard line down to the pump. I watched youtube videos and learned you can cut braided line and adjust as needed for your application, just have the end wrapped in tape when cutting.

    Thanks for your help. Ready to get this fixed up and back on the road!
