Too bad vinyl top and steering wheel and spoiler too far forward (easy fixes). Pretty hot otherwise. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2755796370...uXRguAw8VsiJdDzCgN3t3c4Nw=|tkp:Bk9SR-rDl-GiYQ
This car is only a few miles from me in Orlando, FL. If anyone wants me to take a look and/or drive it, PM me.
There are a lot of things to fix on that car. A big issue are the wheels and the incorrect stripes. They also advertise it as a stage 1, which I would question.
I don't think the bumper guard comes with the car. Easily detachable.... But if it did things could get alot more expensive....
I looked at and drove that Tribute X yesterday. It's a nice car with several of the defects already mentioned. It's pretty fast and the engine build was with hypereutectic pistons, B4B manifold & Holly carb and stock exhaust manifolds. Runs smooth, accelerates well feels like a high 13 or low 14 second ride. It will burn both tires all the way through 1st gear. The car is an original Skylark, not a GS, and interior is converted to buckets/console from a bench seat column shift car. The column shift steering column is still there with the shift lever removed. The heater ducts are open to outside air all the time. A piece of good news is that the horridly wrong GSX stripes are taped on so removal should be easy. Paint is nice and close to Stratomist Blue. Hood tach reads very low (2000 RPM @ 60 MPH with 3.42 gears?) Scott, the owner/dealer, is pretty nice and says he will sell the car for $30K even though the auction is currently stuck at $25,600. It looks like an absolute auction but he says his wife was supposed to put a reserve on it. My guess is that he would accept something just under $30K. Worth it? To the right buyer with some detailing work, maybe. But I think $25K is about right.
This car was on FB MP a couple of weeks ago, for sale in Georgia, if I remember correctly, with asking price of $27.5k. I tried to look through Marketplace and the sold listings to see if I could find it but apparently the original poster deleted the ad entirely. Just an fyi for anyone potentially interested in the car.
