Question for the Buick masses. I have 1971 GS 350 AT convertible that I be selling very soon. I'm not getting any younger and its been sitting in a covered carport deteriorating for over 20 years and there's almost no chance I will ever get to restore it. It has about 70K on the odometer and still has an 8-track player in the dash. last registered in the 80's. Its a bit rough, but its complete, it does not have the original engine but it does have a 71 350 in it and it has been run periodically to keep it drivable. Interior not bad at all, but body needs lots of love. Doors solid. all 4 corners rusted out but Hood straight and complete and grill complete with a just a few easily fixable cracks. Bumpers poor to fair but rechromable, frame was in need of a little help but easily repairable last time I checked. I'm at a loss on the value as she sits, so I was wondering if any of you folks might be able to give me a ball park on the range of value for a tired but complete GS convertible. I know the value of the parts but I do not want to part it out, I want to sell here whole. I have a clean title for it. I will post some pictures after taking it out and cleaning it up this weekend but Any one have rough ideas? Its one of about 560 or so. No options other than AT and power top, and even has flintstone brakes. I do have parts that could go with it including a complete and correct 71 GS engine. I'm in Mass and I could deliver in New England area. Would prefer to sell to someone looking to restore it but if the money is fair I don't care what is done to it. I figure parts value is easily $2500. Would consider trades for equal value 4 stroke sled and or trailer. :idea2:

thanks, going to post some pictures this weekend. Your estimate is about what I was thinking. I'm a believer in its worth what the next guy pays for it. Its all about what its worth to the next buyer. Its in better shape than my 70 gs455 vert was when I rescued it but not by much.

There are various price guides that can be accesses online. Most of then use a 0 to 5 rating scale; where 0 is a prefect no flaws car and a 5 is a non-running car that is either a parts car of a total restoration project. Here is a shot of your car from their site: https://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vbe=50540

Without looking at the car first hand it is very hard to determine what the market value would be for the car. What I do know is that simply by posting this thread you have done the right thing and you will get the best possible exposure and value for the car here; directly and indirectly.

Best of luck in the sale.

BTW, I suspect a 4- condition car that is in your area is in the $4k-$7k range depending a lot on the options it has. Some options are worth a lot and others almost nothing.
