Dave is correct. Post coupe, non-AC car. Probably an F-85 dash.

The "smooth" pad would have come in an F85(post) non-ac. A 442 post non-ac or Cutlass post non-ac or a regular hardtop and convert would have had the second pad (blocked center vent). AC cars, of course, would have received the "all open" 3-vent pad.

The smooth pad (F85) cars would have had a SINGLE PULL vent cable in each kickpanel. The other Non-AC cars (using the blocked center vent) would have TWO vent pull cables on each kickpanel.

I have interest in the smooth(F85 pad) if you are thinking of selling.

Ever notice Olds big blocks with A/C had the Alternator and brackets reversed? unlike Buick which kept them on the same side with or without and even used the same upper alt bracket for both.

Dave's right, the His and Hers Agean Aqua W-30 and W-31 are local to me -- owned by friends of mine (not "Roger Penske"). Dave will appreciate that the "His" car is the W-31. :)

To the best of my knowldege, neither car has been sold. Last I spoke to my friend about it, he said they weren't interested in selling, and if they did they would go as a pair. I wonder what the pair would bring at Barrett-Jackson?

These friends, while still Olds nuts deep down, now spend their time and dollars racing a 7-second  '67 Camaro. It's a serious piece of machinery.

Thanks Brian! The last time I saw those cars were at the 105th at Lansing. Still brings a smile to my face when I think about those cars. That and the "UPS" W-30 car!

My car has AC. I believe the lowest gear for these cars is 3.23. I would be willing to bet the AC W-30 rags are not as rare as some people think. I kinda see these cars as pimped-out cruisers and people who usually bought these kinds of cars often were not shy in loading up the cars since they were after the ultimate car. If they were looking to go fast, they would have not gotten the ragtop. I can look up figures for other, similar cars like the Coronet R/T and the rate of AC installation is much greater in the ragtops than the hardtops.

One interesting story of my old 70 W-30 Rag top(non AC). Car was bought as a dealer demo by a guy who went to school in California but he live in Mass. Car was purchased new in Summer of 70 at Berijik Olds. Car was late build as sticker on door said 6/70. I did not know much about Data plates at that time so i do not know the week. Car was Rallye red(Awsome red orange color). Was special order paint code and only had dashes as paint code. Car had white roof and black bucket interior auto dual gate and Black stripes. The interesting thing was car had factory 3.91 rear and the guy drove it cross country to school every year! My best friend bought car in 1975 and sold it to me several years later. I used to run car at the strip in mid 13's on street tires with major wheelspin. I later sold it to a guy who lost his business and sold it to someone in his family car is still in Mass.. The guy put white stripes on it because he thinks it came this way? Funny as i was there when my friend bought car from original owner! Owner is pretty stubborn and never wants to talk to me about the car. I would give anything to talk to past owners of my GS. Car now looks like a creamsicle! This car was a real New England survivor as I remember there was about an inch of dealer installed under coating on the frame and floorboards. whish I never sold it. $9500 in late 1986 :Dou: Still makes me sick to my stomach. Does anyone know how to authenticate the stripes colors. I still have VIN

I think the only way to confirm the stripe color is through the build sheet. But I suspect the correct color would be either white or black. It could match the top or the interior - there is no rule of thumb, and I am not aware if there was a default choice if none was chosen.

Late built cars like that were rarely customer ordered cars, but just using up parts for build out. Lots of wacko combinations. Gear surprises me, though. We saw green cars with red interiors, etc. in the last week of production.

Mistakes WERE made in striping colors from time to time. I always wondered why my Ramrod has white Ramrod emblems and a black pinstripe and interior???? I'd much rather had the black Ramrod decals.

So Diego, ou coming out to Martin in June? Big time show it appears.......

I am sure my Rally red car was dealer ordered as I had original invoice and it had discount for dealer demo model. was $500 discount if I remember. Also orig owner said it came with black stripes.

So where is Martin, and who is running it?

F.A.S.T. Big time Year One sponsoring. Martin is on US 131 halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. Beautiful track and facility, just a few uears old.

2 day event this year, see the Year One site. They gave up on the Commerce challenge for this as the cars are mostly up here.

Not even sure where you are these days, but come on out. This will pretty much be in this area for Pure Stock/Factory Stock until Stanton. Lots of other stuff going on in Lebanon and Elizabethtown, NJ. Also the Mondello and Dick Miller Oldsmobile meets are growing. Mondello is moving from Byron, Ill to Beech Bend, Ky, and Dick Miller is having a second meet in Eddyville Iowa in early June in addition to the big Norwalk meet. Not sure why there, it's an 1/8 mile track. Our cars wouldn't do well there.
