This one was for sale a couple months back. What I wondered then and still do, is what the paint code 37 on the firewall means, when the cowl tag indicates paint code 28. Actually, I don't think Buick had a code 37 in 1970.

The person in the autoappraise.com video(available at the auction ad) notes that the voltage regulator is 37 amps and points out the markingt is right next to the regulator. 13:30 or so in the video.

Thanks Brian for the clarification. This would be the first time I have ever seen the amperage rating marked on the firewall.

    Cheers

He makes several mistakes and assumptions, but that being said it’s a beautiful car and even though it’s got a stock sounding 1973 motor in it I would be a player under $50k but that just a dream I know…

I believe when the board member who restored the car (I can't recall his username) had it listed on here a couple years ago that he struggled to get $40k - I believe it sold for around that (+/-). I tried to find that thread but it may have been deleted.

Hello, I am the current owner. To clarify your statement,, please read the following.

My Stage 1 had a 1973 Stage 1 block, a 1974 Stage 1 distributor, the original heads and 1970 pistons.

Yes, and sounds like a 1973 stock 455. What is there to clarify? I do have a question….I would like to know if the video was current or like others have said it’s 3 years old. Also you say original trans, but then no numbers on it? I wish it had been for sale locally as I live in Phoenix and would have looked into it if the price was inline. Best of luck with your auction.

    Hello,

Rot box, really? I am the current owner of this Stage 1, it is differently not a "Rot Box" as you claim and have no knowledge of the car or examined the car. There are many restoration pictures, before and after restoration.

Yes, you are correct that the inspection video was no made in 2021, it is from 2018. Since mu purchase, I have added less than 100 miles on the car, stored in an air conditioned rv-garage. Why did I share the 3 year old video, it is detailed and accurate, oh and I am dealing with my Leukemia diagnosis and don't have the energy at the moment to recreate a similar video.

If you don't have first hand knowledge of a car, perhaps you should be silent.

What issues, there are no issues and was recently gone over by a Buick expert here in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I read your entire description and watched the video too. Sorry but you never said anything about heads or pistons, and it seems a bit odd to use a video inspection from 3 years ago and not disclose that Maybe you understand my concerns better. Also I said I liked the car and would be in the game , but it’s going higher you’ll get more I believe.

A '74 Stage 1 distributer I believe is an HEI. I can't trust my eyes anymore, but sure looks like a points type to me.

Yes, the video is from May 2018. I contacted AutoHunter and had them state that in the auction post. Since purchasing the Stage 1, I have put less than 100 miles on the car. I recently had the car gone over by a Buick expert, the steering wheel issue was corrected.

I was not trying to miss lead anyone by posting the video. I was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and didn't have the energy to recreate the video that provided all the same information.

I hope that addresses your concerns, thank you for your interest.
