I'm trying to remove the drivers power bucket seat but have no battery power. The engine harness has been removed. I was able to remove the two front track nuts but can't move the seat forward so I can remove the rear track fasteners. I removed the motor cover to expose the motor belt and tried turning it but I can't see the seat moving. The seat did operate before teardown. Any secrets? IMG_0522.jpg IMG_0524.jpg

Glen, I had this issue with my 69 GS400, too. In your first picture, there is what looks like a screw, with a square indent. This is the other side of the shaft that turns one of the cables. Try sticking a long screwdriver in there and see if you can turn that. There are usually 2 of them. One moves the seat forward and back and the other moves it up and down. Be patient with them, as the seat will move pretty slow.

Here is a picture of my seat, flipped over on a table. I circled the screws locations that will manually move the seat.

Rich, you are the man!! I took your advice and found a screwdriver blade to fit the right hand screw on the gearbox. That screw moved the seat up slowly but enough for me to get to the rear track mounting nuts an remove the seat. Thank you for that informative piece of Buick expertise. Now to get the seat to the upholstery shop tomorrow for new covers. Thanks again to all that offered advice.

Hook up a 12 volt battery to the seat power and ground wires.
