This sales comes with a heavy heart, but I'm going to sell my 70 GS project full competition car. Dad and I bought this about 10 years ago and life just hasn't let us do much with it....now that dad has passed it doesn't make since to trip over it the next 10 years till my son may want a full racecar. Dad and I actually came to this conclusion months b4 he passed away.

But on to the car, I was told it was true 70 GS car, but I have never done any digging to verify this. There is no title or VIN. For what I do know the car came from Arizona orginally.......the frame and floor are so very rust free....I'm sure minus a very minor surface discoloring the body in a few spots it is very solid to.

Lots of lightening work has gone into this and when I got it, 3 adults picked up the frame, body, and cage to put it on the trailer.....there was no suspension on it when I got it. I have since installed enough stk parts I had around to get it rolling and did get a good manual gear box and ujoint to hook up the steering as well.

Cage has an expired sportsman certification, double rear x bars, door x bars, front frame and dash bars, head diagonal bar, and hoop over and for seat mount. Has removable transmission tunnel. Full lexan windows that fit very nice. Doors are gutted with aluminum panel to cover...has modified door hinges to make them pin on, but still uses factory exterior handle and latches.

Dash bars are done in a manor that an aluminum dash could be made, but there is also a gauge bar that would allow the mounting of 7 gauges. There is a switch panel mount on the overhead bar going above windshield. There is an B&M full ratchet shifter so transmission could be forward or reverse pattern. Steering column is round tube with removable steering on quick release. There is a window net which I'm sure will need updated, but would be able to be used as a perfect pattern.

All suspension mounts front and rear are factory, so any readily available control arm bolt right in.....the only modifications to the rear was they cut the coil sping and shock mount and seat assembly out to save weight. The rear will have to be coil overs, but the upper mount bar is installed, as is an anti roll bar for rear suspension. The rear wheel tubs have been replaced with full aluminum tubs, and they tastefully swelled the exterior fender wells.....measures about 15" from inner tub to inner wheel well lip....will accept a good size tire. Rear axle is a plain open chevy 8.2 put in just to allow it to roll around and be easily moveable

The entire rear section of the floor pan, rear wheels, and trunk are all very well fitted aluminum panels.....someone did remove some rivets that simply need put back in. The rear trunk is setup with places for 2 batteries and large rear fuel cell and rear firewall. There is a parachute mount. Rear decklid is fiberglass from vfn with 5 zesus fasteners.

I have mocked up the fame pads to take advantage of the firewall being set back.......the frame mounts are tacked in place incase new owner wants to move or switch engine brands......but pads are for BBB. I also temporarily slide the motor to its farthest back postion to see its maximum potential as far as set back and it made it easier to mock up a temporary crossmember to support the rear of the th400 short shaft transmission. All rubber motor mounts and transmission mount are brand new.

I have front and rear 70 fiberglass bumpers that are included though the rear bumper will need some fiberglass repair as someone put a few cracks in it b4 I got it.

I would guess vehicle race weight should be some where 2600-2800lbs when completed.

Not in line Ben but I just have a question: How much bigger is the rear wheel opening as compared to stock? Looks like there's tons of room opened up around the outside wheel well. Have any direct pics from the side in that area? I know it can be hard anytime a car is in a shop to get all the pictures you need. Just curious...

Hope you can find a Buick guy/or gal here without going to outside avenues.
    Good luck!! ;)

I run 29x10 hoosier on my car now. I had to trim the inner lip to get them to fit......they are not even listed as having 12" section width..........I measure 15" from the inner well lip to the frame.

As are as heigh . There is alot.......they put what looks like tubs used on minitubs without cutting the frame....

I'm sure you run 32 or 33 tall Like those outlaw 10.5 tires would be perfect here.

Or 315, 325, or 335 dot drag radial.

I have to have the car out today to let my sister use the trailer to move with I will try to get a more direct to the side photo

Open to listen to reasonable offers
Had several low ball offers and several make plans to not show up to look at it

I have someone interested in the engine and tranny core and if that happens I will adjust my asking price.

But I really want to find this a new home so I can move onto other projects
