    I can tell you without a doubt that my stripes down the sides are indeed satin. The paint on my car I would consider way better than average for a 52 year old car. The sun doesn’t shine very much in this area and I know for a fact it was always garaged. Probably explains why my overflow lid isn’t falling apart. It’s hard to tell if that satin matches my hood because the black on my hood is lightly peppered with rust, but I’d say it’s very close.

    :) People do not want to understand that these cars were mass produced
    Some experts want perfect paint perfect shine no orange peel etc etc
    These cars were on an assembly line .Remember 22 minutes 2 employees to do stripes on w-30 and w-31
    The time must have been similar on a GSX

    I even went so far as to have the factory “staggers” put in when we restored my 71 GSX.

    I actually had a board member here see it when it was at my friends body shop. He posted it on the boards saying it was an original paint car because he saw the staggers. Had to laugh at that one.
