70 core support restoration

    Like most core support, the one in the X has had a repair done to it.

    Got me to thinking...has anyone bought the AMD repro and removed the whole headlight, battery areas and grafted it onto an original core support instead of using just the repair kits?

    That way you would retain the SAE 70 stamping.

    Jason,
    If you wanted to keep the SAE numbers in the original core supports you would have to leave the headlight areas intact. Then cut and graft the bottom “battery” area into the original support.

    The best place to do this is where the core support goes vertical, below the headlights.

    Also if someone would post a link. I put up a thread a while ago showing how I made patch panels to fix some of my supports.

    I also posted files for the pattern pieces I made.

    That would be another way to fix them.
