Does anyone know where this clutch pack can be purchased? Is it possible to use a clutch pack from another GM brand (Cadillac, Chevy)? in a 69 Riviera..Thinking Clutch packs might be the same.
If it has the square tabs, they can be purchased from Bruce Ponti. He had an excellent style of replacements made. Better than originals. If they have the round tabs, you can still get the original knurled steel style from Eaton,or myself. These are still the best for this style. Do not buy any of these modern polycarbonate,carbon-fiber,or whatever fancy words they want to use. They are garbage. Your used ones would be better.
Brian, this? http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/new-8-5-gm-posi-clutch-packs-with-shims.243801/
That is not what fit the Buick Posi . They are not square tab...I PMed you I have those clutches for you. Jim Mitschke J D Race
They are the round tab, like what came in the 12-bolt Chevy Eaton units. You can still buy the good knurled steel ones. I have them here if needed. $125.00 shipped, and come with a large assortment of shims to tune it properly. This is what the SHOULD be putting in their new units, but they don’t. They put the crap ones in,just like everyone else.
Thanks for the info. Wanted to see if parts were available before taking it apart. Not sure what type of tabs it has. Will find out when it's apart.
I don’t like those flower petal ones either. They like to break. The solid steel discs with the knurled surfaces are the best.
