I restored a 68 Sportwagon and sold it 12 years ago and the guy I sold it to had a agreement that he would give me first shot at it if he ever decieded to sell it. Well time went by and you guys found it for me via posting pictures on the V8 Board. I can't remember now but Alan and Chris went the extra mile for me in locating my 68. The guy I sold it to didn't contact me on the sale only 2 year he owned it. To try to make a long short you guys found it and I've been talking to the new owner and he has been really taken care of it. He told me that he would give me first shot of buying her back. I call him over the week end and I think he maybe entertaining the idea of selling it back to me. I will be trying to driving up to see it again and take some pictures, well we will see, AL.

    Wagons Rule!!!

I'm glad the present owner has taken good care of her :) . I may take a ride up to the guy's place to see it and take some pictures. I really wish the guy I sold it to would have given me a shot of buying it back (I thought we had that agreement) before selling it to the present owner. The only problem now is what is he going to want from me to buy it back :Do No: AL.

If I had the opportunity like this to find the '69 LeSabre I had, I wouldn't hesitate one minute. You may not get this chance again, Al. Let's hope the price is right and he's fair with you. Good luck!!

Lookin GREAT Al .....just like it left the factory. Why did you ever sell the Sporty ??

Here's my daily ride - taken 2 weeks ago on a trip to Lake Champlaine NY. Hauled up a full load for wife's parents, plus dog, Dive gear for 2 and our stuff for a week away.

....Ohhh - and I averaged 22.7 mpg doing 75-85mph the whole trip :Brow: :Brow: and blew most everything away that tried to pass me :3gears: :3gears:

Alan, don't let the stock look fool you, many ricers found out what a tuned 3.8 will do with daul exhaust, modified transmission and heavy sway bars front and rear. I looked for your pictures and they didn't come on to the post, AL.

Alan, On you question on the 68 Sportwagon, at the time I had a mission to find a 4-Speed GS and didn't have the money to pull it off. Well I got a deal on my 72 GS 455 4-Speed from Scott and now had a stroke of good luck thanks to you and others members who love these cars on maybe getting her back, AL.

Alan, now I got the picture :bglasses: . That is the BIG one!!! Wow!!! I think you get better fuel milage then me :TU: . Looks like the same color too! I would love to have the room you have in that one. I looked into one like your and found most were used like trucks :blast: . Why would someone take a exspensive nice car like that and beat it up? I saw the same thing on the Custom Cruisers by Olds. AL.

Last of the Big Ole American Wagons.....last produced in '96.

You're right about the truck use - the '96 parts wagon I had was used as a landscape vehicle - $31,000 in '96 for these Luxo-Barges and the second owner turns it into a work truck :spank: :spank:

Ever Notice the Roadmonsters have the same Vista roof as the Sporty's ?? :bglasses: :bglasses:

I do use mine but I'm very carefully. The car has a nice bumper hitch and I pull a 6'x10' trailer for my big stuff. AL

    68 Sportwagon

Well I talked to the owner of my 68 Sportwagon and he is pricing it up there!!! Paul and Lynn saw it in Pa a wile ago with a for sale sign on it and the said he would give me first shot at it. The guy I orginaly sold it to said the same thing and it didn't happen! The present owner said he lost my number. He now wants $16,500.00 for it and I think thats a bit high for a 350 car, AL.

Well Al, this one looks super sweet, but without all the details its hard to guage.
That one looks as good if not nicer than the one we got, we paid about half that 3 1/2 years ago.
It all boils down to how bad someone wants it.

$16,500 as it appears in that shot does sound a little high from where I sit but you never know till you put a price on something what you can get.

good luck with it, it sure looks friggin awesome :bglasses:
