STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

Selling yourself short Dano that 8.2 3:64 is worth close to $1500. Gears looked nice. Want ya to make some money not just break even on the deal brother. Can still give some fair deals to members & hopefully you can get one of your cars further along.

No. It was a "retro fit" per Buick.

Unfortunately, these links are history.. I listed photocopies of this bulletin...

There was a bulletin Buick put out around late 1969 in reference to overflow tank use. It showed how to retrofit a clear top 1970 unit onto it. There was also a 'cheap' overflow that Buick offered...Take a look at these threads...

Thanks - My '68-9 knowledge is very limited but in thinking about it after I posted "huh" I t kinda remembered that '68-9 didn't have overflows orig. & that there was a dealer installed kit avail.

I know... That is why I would like to restore 1 more 68/69... I still have a 69 Stage "lingering"... Anyway, yes.. The dealer installed 68-69 overflow is similar to a NAPA jug that you can get today.

With the introduction of the 1970 model, Buick found that the clear top overflow will fit on the fender, so the put out the bulletin I listed above.

Would have to check my notes both I believe he counted all the teeth and also marked & counted the revolutions .

I know the “Standard” 68 400 4-speed is 3.42 and “Performance” posi was offered in 3.64
Also were 2 trailering options at 3.91 (not available with a/c ) and 3.64

Chances are much higher of it being a 3.42,...the numbers are stamped on the gear

Will do - I was looking at the grille today. It needs a little work but is pretty darn nice!

I'll have to get under it and check. Fritz seemed pretty darn sure it was a 3.64.

a pretty darn good grill would work for the car I have. I had a 68 400 4 speed GS years ago and it had a 3:64 posi

You know I'm going to bust your chops... LOL.

Post more pics! Grille, engine bay, each side of the car, interior, pedals, up under the dash, etc..etc.. Those that have 68's can see what parts are present. It's all of the small things..
