Before I part this car out, I'll list it here for a few days to see if by chance this is someone's dream car and they want to take on the project. I seriously doubt it but I'd hate to part it if someone might want to restore it - It's not a project for the faint if heart. It needs nearly everything - No title.

What I assume is the #'s matching engine (no carb/dist) is locked up. Assuming I do part it, even if I could get to turn over, is a '68 400 core worth anything more than scrap $?

No trans/shifter (I do have a '69 shifter/linkage), but bellhousing/insp. cover, flywheel, pedals/linkage, Z-Bar, fork, speedo (w/speed alert & clock), hump/ring, steering col. etc. (i.e. most critical 4-sp. parts) are all there. No driveshaft.

    Nice Grille
    3.64 posi
    Good LF inner fender
    AM radio
    Speed Alert/Clock

It needs virtually every piece of sheetmetal except maybe a roof, pass door, and LF inner fender. Front bumper could maybe be a decent core. Rear is probably too rusted to re-chrome but reasonably straight. No scoop. No hood hinges. Has Skylark trunk lid (w/good trim). Needs trunk/pass floors, quarters/wheelhouses, core support/RF inner, rear window channel. Fenders could probably be repaired.

$1500 w/ '69 shifter/linkage. Located near Baltimore, MD. Yes, it's the same one that was listed on here for $500. I have a day + trailer rental, fuel, etc. into picking it up (plus the '69 shifter/linkage). I bought it m/l for the shifter hump/ring & a few other little things & even the hump does have a little rust but I think (hope) it's better than the three (3) I already have. I hate to part a GS & esp. a 4-sp. car & obviously it was a really cool car in it's day, but really, this one is pretty far gone & I have too many other projects.

Feel free to preemptively PM me w/any parts desires assuming it does wind up going that route - No need to "get in line" here as I'll start a new ad(s) if it gets parted. I may keep a few of the other 4-sp. parts but we'll see.

There's no driveshaft Ted, but what do you need? I have a few other cars & I'm probably heading to your area this summer.

Dano, I think 1500 is a deal!!! I had a fleeting moment of saying “maybe”… lol.

There’s easily $2500 worth of parts, and $300-$500 in scrap metal. Yes, there’s a sweat equity piece…

I wish I could save it George & I hate to part a 4-sp. GS so wanted to make someone a reasonable deal if they wanted to save but not cheap enough that someone else would just part it. The MT Speed Alert speedo has to be super rare! Unfortunately a one year only part and not a lot of ppl doing '68's.

    I got ya. If I had a 68 auto that I wanted to convert to a 4 speed… or, a clean skylark shell/ body to convert…

reach out to Sobotka. He can use the parts

Interestingly, as gone as this one is, there's still distinct remnants of a factory chalk mark. 20210704_113551.jpg

If it gets parted, save the ignition switch.

Boxed frame? If so is it in decent shape or is it a scaly rusty mess?

I'll look but I don't think '68's had boxed frames. Only '65-7 afaik.

Pat, See above. Even before I got this car I'd already figured on one of the 3 (now 4) shifter humps I have being for you. None of them are perfect unfortunately.

It's broken George. I think I have an extra early '70 clear top/tank assy if you need one.

Be that way hoarder:). Is the '68 clear top different than the '70 or just the tank?
