My trunk molding panel has a bit of corrosion on it. I am thinking I may have it re-chromed but I'm concerned about the "skylark" emblem that is permanently fastened to the panel.
    How does it come off?

You can see on the back, it looks like the posts are pushed into the panel and cut off to hold it all on there.

So, can I drill it out, or how can I remove that script? Oh, and save it for re-use.

Yes those are staked post from the emblem. Simply drill the surface of the staking and the emblem with remaining posts will pull out.

Sounds about what I guessed, but I feel a whole lot better tapping on this with a hammer and punch after having it confirmed by you guys.

I love this about the V8 board. Somebody here has done it and is willing to say how.

Is this skylark script repopped somewhere? Mine is pitted and has a gouge out of the S.

It's only money, I gave it to the chrome shop and told them to make it pretty.
Thanks finite, for the offer tho.

I told my wife, I'm sure this molding won't be but $400-500 honey. I drop it off, estimate is $783 including the environmental charges.
    ouch.
Whatever, I've already committed to this, can't complain now.

I sprayed mine all satin black except the top edge which I buffed for shine.
Looks good a few feet away.
    Emblems are a different issue.
