This car sold at the Sotherby's auction at Auburn in September 2020 for $37,950 (fees included), then last year it popped up on eBay at a dealer in Illinois with a big mark up (I think it was advertised for $49k) with the only change being that the original steering wheel was reinstalled. The trim tag shows that the colors are original, Platinum Mist, white convertible top, and red bucket seat interior. A very attractive car in these colors. The red interior was offered only with bucket seats and only in the convertibles and there were only 266 GS400s ordered with it (this car is one of the 28 that were built at Fremont with the red bucket seat interior). The car appears to have taken a really hard lick. Finding replacement convertible 1/4s or a good donor car would not be easy. I suspect the damage is much more extensive that we can see from this photo. A sad ending. Hopefully no one was hurt. Here is the car prior to being crashed:
