Yes Walt, those pictures are inspirational and quite depressing actually! Who can match that?!

What silver paint is that you're using?

    Thanks,

Well, the frame looks boxed from the rear trailing arm shock shot (they low to the ground shot. you can see the front body mount through the suspenion to the front of the car...??? AM I wrong or do the older cars have the frames boxed like the grand prixs did when they first came out...Made them very heavy cars. 1969 -1972 because of that extra metal. Jim

    Hey Jim,

Buick used the boxed frames on the GS (regardless of hardtop or 'vert) from '64-'72. The boxed part is actually only the side rails (the section between the wheels). I don't think Pontiac used boxed frames on the GTO unless it was a convertible.

    Best Wishes,

The GS hardtop only used the boxed frame (convertible frame) from 65-67 and 68-72 had the regular frames.

    Hey Walt,
Fantastic job of detailing that '66 GS frame, etc. Looks SUPER! I've got to know what you used on the backing plates; almost looks like they were plated or powder coated. I've got to do a GS rearend for the 66 Special project.

Jim (at jdrace), I just emailed you for a price quote / recommendations for aftermarket posi's & a set of gears.

Thanks Steve. That's the look I was going for. and what do you mean by 'almost'?
    It is powdercoat. :bglasses:

Joe, the rear is painted with POR 15's 'Metal Mask'. It gives it that bare metal look.
Some guys paint the rear black. But I couldn't find a trace of black paint on the rear, just the painted green ID stripes. So I went with the 'bare rear' look.:moonu:
