There are 2 reasons I love Buicks. One being the 55 Chevy that my father transplanted a Buick motor into back in 1970. The other was his 1966 Riviera! I grew up riding both. He gave the Riv to my bro. back in the 70's when he got a liscense. He gave me the Chevy when I was 13. I kept mine on the road. My brother let his Riv sit for many years and start a serious decline. I finally talked him into a resto on the Riv. back about 13 years ago. In my opinion, it was now or never because the car was going down fast. He agreed. We worked slowly on it and saved every penny. Last month, we decided to do the final touch and drop the frame and detail an nice topside car. Hard work pays off. Here are the pics so far. It will be done next week if everthing goes as planned.

This is my brother and our friend from South Carolina. Our friend in the pic. is only 64 years old, but found out last week he has to have immediate heart surgery. Send a prayer for him! The newly painted frame made a good leaning post for chats.

The car has been on the road most of that time. We just did small things each year to it. This year was the time to do the remaining big items. Got a rebuilt 425 and s/p tranny painted up ready to go in now. Never planned on all this, but somehow it happens.

New chrome on the bezels, polished lenses, bead blasted housings and single stage poly on the surrounding bezels. Took my buddy Roger over 4 hours to assemble and install them today. :jd:

Nice work! That blue looks a lot like my dad's old 66GS Riv. Looking forward to seeing a pic of the car all finished.

Put the engine and tranny in while the power was off from Ivan blowing through on Friday. Hard to wrench in the partial darkness.
