I have a 1965 Buick skylark with a super turbine 300 transmission. The low servo cover is leaking I pulled it off And found an O ring from Napa but it seems much smaller than the original, it does stretch over the cover but doesn’t seem like it could be correct. I am also having trouble getting the snap ring back in place. I’m wondering if anyone has any insight. I read in one manual that I need to take the tension off of the lower band to get the cover back on. I was just wondering if anybody has done this job it’s very difficult with the transmission in the car.

There is probably a tool to compress the cover while you install the snap ring.

I actually was able to Use a ratchet strap and a prybar to suck it in enough to get the clip out and the cap off. Also the Napa flooring was too small I found one at a local hardware store that worked and put it back together and everything is all good.
