I traded my 65 post car for this 64 and the mini tubs were already finished..... saved me a little time. It has 275's on it now, and I know 295's will fit, but I'm hoping I can get a 315 under there??? We'll see...... first things first..... get it rolling under it's own power! LOL
Well.......... I'm currently recovering from a knee replacement and scheduled for the second knee on October 12th. I'm also currently "on hold" doing any oil pans, valve covers or any other SRE products until I can do them properly/safely....... probably a couple more months, but................. I do realize that if I'm going to have this car at next years Nat's it can not sit that long and still get finished!! Sooooo, I've been hobbling around in the shop an hour or so at a time for that past few weeks, and have made progress on Alphalark. As of today, it's running and moving on it's own power! It'll be going to the body shop very soon for paint and then back here for finishing and final assembly. At that time I fully intend to have a "Pro" do the tuning on it utilizing a chassis dyno. I'll probably have him create several programs loaded in the lap top/ ignition for different race conditions, etc. Pulling timing at critical points, Slew rates, boost management, O2 sensors, E85, etc., etc., etc...... most of it's above my paygrade...... at least until I watch and learn from the Pro, then I should be able to make incremental required changes myself. It's running now and all vitals are great, but there are a lot of issues to fine tune and work out before street driving it, much less racing it. My "goal" is to bring it to BG in May..... not certain it'll be ready to race, but at a minimum I can show up and cruise it around........ maybe make a obligatory pass or two just to shake it out.......... we'll see. Next progress report should contain news that it has color on it!!! I HOPE!!! LOL
Glad your in the mobil state. That car is going to be badass. Can't wait to see it in color. Good luck on the knees.
Well...... the car is off to get some color. Can't wait to see it all shiney and all one color! Lol! Plus...... I get my 2 post car lift back for a while!
AlphaLark is at the "paint doctor" getting in the correct physical condition for becoming "Blue". It should be all one color by the end of the year....... then cut and buff. After that it's back to my shop for final assembly and hopefully some good tuning. All in preparation for it's trip to BG in spring.
Well, Tim Engel at "Mild 2 Wild" did an outstanding job on the AlphaLark!!!! I haven't seen it in person as of yet, but I'm absolutely LOVING the color..... exactly what I had envisioned! (maybe even better!!) Thanks to Tim for getting it in color and doing a great job!! Timing should be great to get it all wrapped up in time for the Nat's!! Steve
