So I had some questions on my 63 Riv rear axle and housing. What is it? I'm used to GM 10 bolt and 12 bolts. Never seen one like this. I was talking on another thread that I want to put a 455 in this car. But I need an axle that can handle the massive torque. Are there parts I can buy for it? Or should I swap it out for something else?

It's a Buick 9 3/8ths. NO AFTERMARKET SUPPORT. ONLY bearings, seals, etc. IT CAN HANDLE THE TORQUE.

There was someone on here recently that had some used 9 3/8" rear ends that were from the same era.

We built a dana 60 for the older riv car once...It was a crazy undertaking... We even let them use the ORIGINAL drum breaks too. Which I was trying to take them out of... they wanted 4.10 ratio and a burn out machine. :)
I think this was a 67 68 rear... had to use the original rear for parts like brackets and housing end s etc.
