Round lobe core... you can put any grind/spacing you want on that core.

Jim, do you know how much extra the cam grinder would charge to grind a round lobe core? Am curious because in the future I am considering machining my own sbb cam core(s)?

How does it effect the heat treatment of the core? Are they case hardened or are they hard all the way through? Or are they made out of pre-hardened material?

I asked the seller the same thing while I was at his booth. He said the cam is ground to whatever specs then sent off to be hardened. turn around time is 4-6 weeks.

Well, I did talk to Cody. Basically out the door core, ground, hardened, etc. you’re looking at just over $1200., Ive called the other place in Pennsylvania, we’ve played phone tag for about 3 weeks. After a deep and logical conversation with Scott Brown, “we” decided to run my nitrous cam, and since time is on my side, wait to see when more become more “available”. Even tho I was planning on going “max effort”, my wallet is reminding me, to run what I got and save the cash, or realistically spend it somewhere else, for now.. If “minimum effort” only gives me 1800hp instead of the 2k+, with the learning curve, I’ll be happy with that!
