Install will begin Fourth of July. I am swapping non-ac engine (350 to 455), transmission (TH350 to 200 4r) and rear end (posi built by briantrick). I have a few questions. 1) will alternator bracket from my 1971 350 work? 2) fan and fan shroud options? 3) transmission mount. I have read the TH350 will work as is. Some say it requires elongated holes. Some say it requires spacers. 4) transmission cooler lines. I have also read factory lines will work with some tweaking at the transmission. thanks for all the help along the way. j.r.

I just put a 2004R in place of my TH350. I used an Anchor mount for a TH350 from Summit and it fits the 2004R without modification! You do need metric hardware though. You'll also need to reposition the crossmember, but the holes for this are already in the frame. You may also need to space the transmission up with shims to correct pinion angle. Lastly, I have 3/4" of slip yoke showing at ride height with my original drive shaft and 2004R, so I don't think it needs to be shortened. I've heard some folks have had to though. Good luck! EDIT: My 70 Skylark still has the stock 8.2" rear.
Body bushings all replaced. 1/2 steel fuel line installed. Rob mc sending unit installed. Engine, trans and rear removed. Start install tomorrow.
It was pretty gnarly. Somehow, no bolts broke and no cage nuts spun. Did not have to cut anything. Drilled two small holes in trunk to soak the cage nuts and two small holes under carpet by front seat. Seemed to do the job! Did remove the fender liners for the two up front by firewall. Also had to get the driver side rear up pretty high to maneuver the 1/2 steel fuel line into place.
Engine and transmission (200-4r) installed. I was reading an old post where some mentioned that they ran their throttle valve cable to the gas pedal? Anyone else have experience with that?

Seems like you could just get a THM350 gas pedal and do it the way Jim Weise has done it. Then you don't need to be concerned with the carburetor.
Will need a fan and shroud. Radiator is cars original 350 radiator I had rebuilt two years ago and upgraded to a 3 core.
We called CPT the transmission builders. They said the length of pull should be no more than 1 - 1-1/8 inch. Using the factory kick down location made length of pull a little over 2 inches. So we made a bracket to lower the position and correct the length (just over 1 inch) of pull for t/v cable.
The critical issue is to make sure the piston is fully in at WOT, as said above. Inches/degrees do not mater if the piston/spool/plunger is not all the way in. After you get it all together pull the pan and check the piston. It is activated directly from the TV cable.
Rob MC fuel pump appears to be leaking around the gasket shown. Anyone else have experience with that?
