John I'm glad you got this straightend out. My friend has a unit on a 347cu in 65 comet and it roars but is smooth and gets great mileage for the street. He said his is all computer tuned. Frank
Frank, Thank you for the lead!!! I still do not have an idea of what the price is but I guess I will learn more about this tomorrow.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopa...tZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories this would be easy to convert to a weber setup. don't know if you have figured out the cost, but i think by the time your done with everything, it should be around $4,000. all you need is time and money.
Well, I was informed today that the intake being made if actually for a nailhead. What a bummer.. But they will consider making one for a 455. We will see I will know more on Tuesday. Here is the link to the nail head intake.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buick-nailhead-WEBER-CARBURETOR-intake-manifold-401-/360224865291 Here is another cool link... http://www.carburetion.com/weber/wildv8.asp
i've been at that carb site. i've looked at building an intake with webers for the 350. couldn't justify the cost of $2k for the webers alone. making the manifold and linkage is fairly easy, just time consuming. same thing making an ohc 350, building the head for ohc is easy, but how i wanted the cams(indexable and replaceable lobes) done would cost me dearly. where's my winning lotto ticket.........:ball:
here is the 455 intake... get your wallet out.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUICK...Q5fCarQ5fParts
I don't think we have enough links to this auction yet. Here's another: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/220809916590 Devon
$7500.....just another wannabe THIEF trying to make money off of buick cars and parts. a real buick'er wouldn't screw another buick'er. i wish they would dry up and rot away. my $.02 and opinion. :blast: :blast: :blast: :blast: :blast:
John, try contacting http://www.inglese.com also. Their catalog states that they'll quote and fab an intake for the downdraft Webers as well. Devon
OK... I just found out that the current Ebay auction for the weber intake is the guy that I talked to about 2 weeks ago. This intake was originally supposed to go on the Ingenue funny car but they decided on a blower instead.
Got $6000 worth of spare change laying aroundp ----> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUIC...9916590?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item33694bf0ae
Did you ever notice this phenomenon? Someone puts up a wanted ad on V8 looking for a rare part, and that part appears on Ebay for sale a short time later.
