My buddy is looking for new Rocker arms and push rods for his 72’ 455.
Engine newly rebuilt and builder never installed said mention parts.

Any suggestions where he should buy from?

I like TA Performance. But, he needs to do some work after getting the rocker arms/shafts by checking to see how long of a push-rod is needed. Cam profile, head or block milling, etc can all effect the distance and the rockers themselves aren't adjustable.

Thanks for the info. Looks like he’s got to call the builder.

    6003 Edelbrock heads

Don't those heads use SBC rocker arms?

Well that changes everything. Chevy roller rockers, and longer push rods

Never knew Edelbrock made aluminum heads for the 400/430/455. Learn something new(or several things) every day on here.

Apples and Cantaloupes - as mentioned, the Edelbrock heads use Chevy rockers arms that are adjustable.

The pro magnum rockers are really nice,...they have the Ultra pro magnum as well but overkill for a street mill

It would be good to test fit a few pushrods to determine if the geometry is ok or not. Sure you can adjust the pre load with the adjustable rockers however you still need to get the geometry right.

With Chevy-style individual adjustable rockers, pushrod length is the BEGINNING of proper geometry, not the final product. Not only does pushrod length set the lifter preload, but in the process it determines the position and sweep of the rocker across the valve tip.

The OEM Buick shaft system has most of the "geometry" machined-into the system. Pushrod length does nothing but set lifter preload.
