use electra cast iron manifolds, has cup in side of cast to go around gear box if dont go , with front sub. lot of switching of bumper mounting. lot different. my 455 apollo is a hatch with factory slide sunroof, and breaks tires loose on 2nd gear, at 40, has 2.5 inch duals, and electric fans. Remember right is about 2850 in weight. craig

Well rather than starting a new thread I figured I would just put my update here. Well since I finished The engine, my work slowed down quite a bit, I pull doubles and triples for UPS freight out of las Vegas but since the freight slowed down, my 6 years of company time has allowed me to work on the dock loading the trailers that I used to pull (go figure lol) but at least I'm working. And due to the smaller pay checks coming in we had to move to another place that was more affordable. But now that the move is mostly done, my wife and I decided that we would get through the winter and then continue to move forward with the install of her 462 into her green buick apollo. Just wanted to let everyone know what's going on and as usual I will post updates. I also stumbled upon a 74 apollo that will more than likely be takin the place of my silver 73 but I haven't officially made call yet lol. HOpe everyone is doin well and let's get these buicks on the road!

Another update... Warm weather is finally getting here and we're pretty much settled in the new place, hopefully we'll start the install of the 462 into my wife's green apollo soon. Since the original engine is still in and running I didnt get to do any test fitting so I'm kinda nervous about the motor mounts and how close the brake booster will be to the valve cover but we shall see.
As far as my silver apollo, if it doesnt get parted or sold, I'm thinking about making that a mild drag car with a chevy (I know, I know but they are so cheap and easy to build) engine since its already gutted and set up for that. That will strictly depend on car space and funds.
My newest 74 black apollo I've been day dreaming about it being a daily driver with a T.B.I. 4.3l v6 (because I already have the engine), or a mid ninties lt1/6spd or at the top of the list is an ls1/6spd but they are probably still going to be too pricey. But if gas keeps creeeping, Ill just keep it a weekend toy and throw the oldsmobile 455 (thats been waiting for a home for over 2 years now) in it and continue to drive my lil beater car.

    Too many Damn Projects!
    Hope everyone's doing well!
