Very nice, I would love to clean it. Not an expert on 442's or any cars as clearly noted. I recently read a dirty little secret that starting in 70' you could get power brakes on a w-30 but you didn't get the 328 deg. cam. Im not sure if this continued to 71-72? I may have a visitor coming this winter to the barn. A '70 W-30, 4spd, bench. I may have and opportunity to keep it, "fingers crossed"...

Manual brakes on a W-30. I had an identical 72. W-30 4 speed. It had manual disc's. Mine was red with a white interior

weren’t the red fender wells plastic? I mean I don’t have any inner fenders so I can’t judge LOL

IMHO Olds had to get creative because their engine was archaic by the 70's. Different cams, factory blueprinted, plastic, aluminum...anything to try to "keep up".

Hard to argue the styling of any of them though, some of the best looking musclecars EVER.

Good detective work guys cars videoed and piced right up the block from my house . This is Olds equivalent to say a 72 GSX 455 stage1 4 speed car , They ran out of red fender wells for 72 so there black like the rest.Getting a few offers in mid 20's

At almost 20k with 4 days left. I would let the auction run, but you are well versed in auto sales and musclecars, so I am sure you know how to capitalize on this 442. ;)

I love this car. Make it mechanically sound and drive the wheels off of it!

Wasn't there a member on here who said his brother destroyed his 442 with a hammer or crowbar after hitting his head one too many times?

I sure like this car! The two Oldsmobiles I’d most like to own are a ‘72 W30 and a ‘67 W30 sedan.

Just curious what the rear axle is? It doesn't look like the corporate 8.5 they used from 71 up as I think they have squarish corners on the bottom sides of the pumpkin.

Not all 8.5's had those ears, especially in Oldsmobile's. Same basic axle, different housing cast. Go figure.
