Hey Florida Buick Folks, They’re having the 43rd annual BOPC car show again in Auburndale, Fl. The date is Saturday, October 23. My son and I sent our registration in today. If you didn’t go last year they probably didn’t send you an Email. If you want to go send me your Email and I can forward you the registration paper. I’m GS4004@bellsouth.net Last year we had a pretty good turnout of Buick’s! Afterwards we all went to a local BBQ place and pigged out, pun intended! I can do the foot work and contact the same place to make our reservation. Even if you don’t bring a car, bummer, your welcome to join us and come to lunch. Give a shout back on this thread if your planning on attending the show or lunch. Thanks! John
I am looking forward to attending this year, with the car. If not, I'll show up without it. I'll send you an email for the registration.
Have the printed reg on my clip board of pending shows. Have not filled it out and mailed it yet but will probably do so soon.
Hey Steve, that’s all right by me. Do you know of a specific Hooters that’s close to there? I was trying to see, but I’m not getting very good service in the mountains right now.
Hey Guys, Just checking in. When we last adjourned it was expressed, "Not a BBQ joint." I Map quested the closest Hooters. If I remember correctly they were like 20 minutes away and involved highways and toll roads. (Last time we were all STARVING after the show.) Tonight my son, Alex, was just fooling around on his phone and found "Old Man Franks" restaurant. It's close, 6.5 miles away, and lake front. It's got great ratings, and has been around since the 50's. Some people would still prefer outside eating because of COVID. I understand. It appears that they have outside eating! Their specialty is seafood, but they have regular food too. I'll post the menu from my phone in a minute. I'm just trying to get a consensus before I call them.Let me know what you think.....
As you can see, they have a little bit of everything, and their prices are very reasonable. Let me know what you all think.... John
Last year I was NOT good with indoors. This year I'm not so concerned but prefer outdoors for non-covid reasons if weather is nice. Lakefront begs for sitting outdoors. Menu is fine by me. Agree nearby is good.
They got wings but no hot 1/2 dresses servers. Guess I could make that work. Maybe make a special request of the staff? Getting ready to look for a hotel. Probably try for something closer to the venue and I probably wont stay Sat night like last yr.
I hear you on a different hotel Steve. It was a nice hotel, but a little far away from the show, and kind of a seedy neighborhood. I think we're actually going to stay at my buddies house.
"Up north Steve", I'll tell the management we need a HOT waitress. ""Down south Steve", Their motto is "Best sunset in town!" I'm hoping for dockside dining too! Hector down south.... I'll be calling you......
Not to be political, but this here libtard is trying to bring three Repubs with him. I'll give you a count when the show is closer. (Well, to be honest, 2 Repubs and 1 WTF?)
