I just purchased my first Buick and its a 66 Riviera GS and I need help. The car is in excellent shape outer and inner but with no Engine. I'm looking for a 425 Nailhead. I would prefer a 66 engine but any 425 Nailhead will do. Does anyone know of someone selling one or where I could find one. All the help is greatly appreciated. :dollar:

I have a motor I was told came out of a 66 Riv. and all 66 rivs. had only 425 and no 401.The motor turned over with starter fine but I did not try to run it.I can check the #s on it to be sure what it is.I am in Flint ,Michigan and would take $400 for it - here are a couple of pictures of it.

If it were a 66 Riv engine I would have expected to have seen it painted red. What am I missing.:Do No:

Look at the exhaust manifold, I would say its 65 "A" body GS 401

    If that's a '65 LR code I am interested.

Appears to have the 66 Water Crossover engine loop
    I'm guessing a 66 401

In the first pic, notice the frame the engine is sitting in. Definitely a GS frame and must be a '65. All the '66 425 Riv engines are painted red.

I heard it is difficult job to install a 430 on a 66 Rivi so I guess I'm still in the market for a 425 Nailhead. BlueBuick I'm Intersted. I'm located in Los Angeles, California where are you?

LA WOW:shock: I am in Canada, It would be costly to get a motor to west coast. If you were in the NE maybee.

    Thanks Mel
