What would you be asking for motor only?

He is not here. It is a lead to Craigslist.

All of us have occasionally slipped into that same sand trap.

The $5k price is for the motor only, not transmission.

you should contact the owner through CL ad. My comment about the price being just the engine was based on his revised ad. I don’t know the seller.

OK V8 Buick People: .60 over on a Nailhead??? Isn't that a lot? Mitch

That is a lot on the mains and rods too. If it does run now, it will not take another rebuild: once and done. .030" is all you want to do on the bores unless it is sonic tested. Most of the later blocks wont go .060", but will run hot or have porosity issues if you do. I'd skip this one.

I believe this his the same Centerville built engine initially offered in a 62 ? Wildcat. He then pulled the engine and put the car back stock. The owner had some kind of falling out with Centerville and refused to sell them exhaust pipes he makes or something along those lines.

^ Rebuild tag says "Midwest Service and Supply Co., Salt Lake City, Utah. Bore .060, Mains .030, Rods .020"

I learned my lesson buying a used engine. All it takes is once to learn that lesson. If you are buying one and cannot hear it run, factor in the price of a rebuild if needed. In this case, it cannot be bored again so, take that with a grain of salt. I googled the engine rebuilder and they do not exist any longer. This is why when I sold the engine out of my Chevelle, I left it in the car until I had a 50% deposit, and then I pulled it out the next day for the buyer.

Thanks —for sure I must be mistaken about its origin.
