John, It's time to start gathering things for next year's motor. Gimme a call. 419-357-3978. I'm going to strip all of the blocks I have and pick one for the new engine this weekend. Cap
Adam, GRP recommends replacing the rods every 200 passes. I have had this engine together now for 5 or 6 years? Maybe longer. I would have to dig up some old receipts. I can tell you that I have MANY passes on this engine. I am guessing way over 200. When the car is throttle stopped back to run 8.60s, I only go through the eyes at 6600-6800 rpms. At wide open throttle the car will go low 8s and is upward of 7600 rpms. I would say that 80% of the passes have been below 7000 rpms so I am thinking the rods will last a lot longer than 200 passes.
its noisy and it jerks at low rpm when the cam is rough, it is an adventure to say the least i would not recommend it if you want a peaceful cruise
