has anyone used 4 speed parts from OPGI? Anyone use the shifter rods? Do they work well? http://www.opgi.com/skylark/1970/drivetrain/shifters/G240908/ What about the shifter braket? http://www.opgi.com/skylark/1970/drivetrain/shifters/G240470/
I have no insight on these parts, but for less than that you could just buy a Hurst install kit. I have a complete shifter for sale here on the board. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?282849-Hurst-Competition-plus&p=2336573#post2336573
I have a new and original shifter, but no rods. Just want to make sure I get the right rod/bracket combo
Trans is a Muncie M20 Shifter and handle is from OPG And I have an original Buick 4 speed shifter with 5335 handle
I assume you plan to use the new one? If so, it looks like a Hurst Competition Plus with a straight handle. Something usually seen in Corvettes. Or it could be for a Super Shifter. Either way, you just need an install kit from Hurst, which is considerably less cash than what you are looking at. Summit and Jegs and tons of other places carry the kits. Did you buy that shifter as a Competition Plus or a Super Shifter?
Im hoping the 5335 handle fits into the new shifter. SO a kit like this should work http://www.summitracing.com/parts/huu-3737437?seid=srese1&gclid=CIKBu7jmzr4CFTBk7AodZj8AVw
Your new shifter is a Hurst correct? Just want to make sure. And if so, it is a Competition plus right? The other thing to be aware of is what style shift forks you have. To attach the shift arms do you have a stud and a nut, or a bolt? The arms are different for each style.
Both shifters, old and new, have Hurst Comp Plus on them. Old one has the slip in 5335 handle New one has the straight handle just like the picture above. Arms on the Trans attach with a bolt. Pix of older shifter
