4-Speed Hurst Shifter Handles are still in the works at GS Enterprises. I just talked to Dave about the project and things are moving along. Dave is not rushing the project just making cure he gets it right. Things now are at the machine shop. For those who haven't heard of this, Dave at GS Enterprises is manufacturing a reproduction correct Hurst shift assembely for the 70-72 Skylark GS. The cool thing is he is also making a "bolt on" 100% correct appearance Hurst shifter handle you can install on you newer Hurst Competition Plus shift assembelies. I will post up dates as I get them, AL.

How will this stick compare to the one used in a '68 GS? I think it came straight up and then curved about half way up the stick.

    Update from Dave

I spoke to Dave yesterday on the 4-speed handles for the 68-72 GS floor shifters. He is actively working on the project but it is still a ways off. He has completed a few prototypes and has made up some tooling jigs. He mentioned a few of the complications where he is now looking at buying an entire sheet of custom thickness steel to achieve the correct thickness, modifying some tooling jigs and getting a shop to do the HURST script.

The bottom line is that is a lot of work and many individual tasks go to different shops.

Right now Dave's focus is the bolt on style. It is likely we could persuade him to do some push in handles as the next step in the restoration projects.

I dropped you a PM, send me a pic of the shifter.

I hope he has permission from Hurst to put their name on it. That could be a problem.

Here is the one I'm thinking of buying for $50.00. It needs to be restored, AL.

I think they are the same. I have a newer Hurst in mine now with the incorrect shift handle. I talked to Scott and he said this is the same but doesn't have Hurst spelled out, AL.

:Smarty: Thats a Cutlass /non 442 shifter... :Brow: I have one like that in my 68 Cutlass...It would be the next best thing to the Buick Hurst shifter...

I paid that for a 442 set up at a rural swap meet last year and felt good about the price. By the tip contour that is a post 66 lever so it would have been correct for a 67-72 cutlass.
