444? and a couple more questions.

I really appreciate ALL of the input on this project.

I thought of another custom scripting scheme, another play on the 442, how's 444 for 4 barrel, 4 speed, 4 doors?

    Now some serious issues.

Does anyone know if I will run into a conflict with the trans crossmember mounting the saginaw in the same holes as the TH 350?

For that matter, did BUICK even use a saginaw in the small block cars?

Does anyone know if the engine would need to use a different set of holes on the block for the mounts, or the ones used now with the TH 350?

    Thanks again :beer

    4 speed

We purchased a brand new 1972 Chevelle 4 door 350/300 hp with a manual trans. Dad wouldn't pop for the extra $63.00 to get the Muncie 4 spd, due to the insurance cost. So we made do with the M13 3 spd.

Also came across a 1972 LeMans 4 door with a manual. Both cars had the poverty wheels/caps. The Poncho was a 4 spd. Both were Green/Green color combo (yuk), popular in the day.

Was the Skylark available in this combo. Most likely, yes. If you didn't specify automatic 3 speed, you got a 3 on the tree manual trans. Not very common at all as a dealer would end up sitting on the car for lack of sales.

Our Chevelle was an order out, it replaced a 1968 Malibu 4 door, 3 speed manual 327/300 hp that was wrecked in early '72.

My .02 is to go for it. You NEVER see one of these cars anymore. Most have been parted out to fix up 2 door A-bodies. The hardest part will be finding the manual trans bench seat. It has a small notch cut out in the center of the seat with seat backs that are in a fixed position.

We need a project name, again. And the doggies are here.....

    Does anyone know NICK? http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?u=14669

I have not talked to him since we spoke on the phone at Thanksgiving, and I see he has not been on the site since then? We taloked some terms and puf...gone?

If you know him, please have him get a hold of me.....I was trying to buy his 4 speed set up for the project and I still really want it all, IT WAS EVERYTHING.

So, with that deal falling thru, it looks like we need to put a twist on the project. I have a 455 sitting around, yeah I know, where did I get that? It has been working it's way into the car.......

So now we need a new project name, since I still see the 4 speed:beer

Project: BIG BLOCK 4 door 4 on the floor.

    Oh, the doggies are here:TU:

If Nick is out, I will need everything for the conversion, so, please help:TU:

The 4 speed 4 door is cool, should be fairly easy actually, I have done a couple 4 speed conversions and they are nothing to sweat. all the same as a GS, a Chevelle, a GTO, basically the same thing. I would like to see some more shots of the BuickAmino whats the dash and interior from?
could you post some pictures or email me some at moparcolt@msn.com
